Because Mosley assumed that Cotto would be the easier fight, that is the only reason Mosley fought Cotto, why didnt Mosley take the fight with Margarito? becuase Mosley knows better as does Oscar as does Floyd as does Mayorga as does Winky all of them these are supposed to be boxing best, the only thing they are good at is getting a restraining order against margarito

Castillo had a granite chin, Cotto hasn't. But people look into Cotto's chin too often and that hides his true weakness: he tires when he has to go 12, he tired vs Mosley and Mosley was 36 years of age when they fought. Margarito can take advantage of that in their fight. He also can be punished to the body. I can imagine Cotto going down from a body shot like castillo vs ricky hatton.

So, and your point is what? Floyd is still ducking these guys, I mean nobody knew who Felix Sturm was when he beat DLH and Floyd had no problem begging for his fight with Oscar.
I mean since all of you Floyd fans claim that Oscar has yet to beat a top elite fighter what has Oscar done to earn his fight? its all about the money with Floyd but like I said at the end of the day when his career is finished he will be remembered as the man who elected not to face the top fighters in his divison like it or not as it stands right now, Cotto and Margarito are both the top welter weights irregardless of how many wins or losses they have.
look at the Ring Ratings and if you say those are bull**** than Floyd being rated #1 by the same people is bull****.
bottom line is True champions take risk they defend their titles against the very best period.

Mayweather's own team, management and personal advisor won't let Floyd make the Margarito fight because they believe it's a dangerous fight. The Cotto fight, however, will definitely be made if he can make it past Tony. I think that says all there needs to be said about this ducking issue and bad style matchups.

I agree, and I think people are over looking his style because of Floyds skills, look Floyd is the best P4P boxer today. However the style of Margarito vs Cottos style is what makes Cotto an easier fight.
first off Cottos chin can be dented we have seen that, when have you seen Margaritos legs turn to JELLO? Never.
fact is in Margaritos last fight he walked through every single Cintron power shot until he finally walked Kermit down, sure Cintron isnt a world beater but his power is World class power nobody can deny that.

now on to the style difference and why Margarito is a bigger challenge for Floyd. Floyd loves to pull you in and let you throw shots while he slips and ducks on the ropes looking for the counters.
this works perfectly for the guy who is throwing correct straight shots the way Cotto does. when you got a tall long fighter like Margarito who loops his shots that is where the trouble begins, Floyd has a bad habit of putting himself on the ropes,Margarito insist on putting you on the ropes So Floyds style helps Margarito in the fight.
Then Floyd loves to do his slip and duck and roll **** while he is on the ropes, but in doing so he often pulls back the way Jones does, and while on them ropes you have no where to go, and with someone who loops right hands the way Margarito does, sooner or later one of them will catch Floyd and it will be end of the night for Mayweather.
Look as it stands now, Everybody is going to say that Margarito isnt much work for Floyd, but I think Margarito has proven especially in his last fight that he is not a push over what so ever, and that he will walk you down weather you have two fisted power or not.
That is the type of fighter that other fighters just dont want to be in there with. look Floyd is great but even the greats have one guy out there who just has their number and I beleive Margarito is that guy.

Whats funny is that the majority of the fans here will not agree with my view of the fight simply becuase it justifys why Floyd should face Tony rather than Cotto, I really think that the Floyd nuthuggers (Not fans) but those who love nothing more than to ride Floyds nuts, I think they immediatly argue Cotto simply becuase of the hate they have for Tony.
Hate has nothing to do with Boxing, and the reality of it is, style wise Margarito vs Mayweather you have another Chavez vs Taylor fight. but i am starting to beleive that the die hard fans of Floyd are content with him just fighting the soft easy fights, what is the point in having all that skill if your not willing to test it?
