    Team Floyds Flawed Excuse...

Apparently Floyds team doesn't realize that EVERY Puerto Rican on the planet with a few very small exceptions are Miguel Cotto fans. That's your draw right there. I've said it before 100 times - especially for the unspoken rivalry that exists between African American men and Puerto Rican men. Leading up to the Shane Mosley VS Miguel Cotto fight the only discussion I heard day in and day out in the barbershops and bodegas around the way were between black and spanish men arguing who was going to win the fight. This fight would be bigger than Oscar VS Floyd and bigger than Hatton VS Floyd without a doubt. The population of the Bronx itself is 1,000,000+. More than 50% of that number is Puerto Ricans and we're talking a few square miles here. I'm not saying that's a million guaranteed PPV buys but for example when Felix Trinidad fought Delahoya I thought the walls of the building I was in were going to come down. You could hear people flipping out three floors down and four floors up. Same thing happened when Felix Trinidad fought Bernard Hopkins. When Puerto Rican fighters reach the Felix Trinidad level which Miguel Cotto has definitely already done fighting on the eve of the Puerto Rican Day Parade three years in a row - humongous PPV numbers are guaranteed especially when you put them in front of whoever is considered to be #1 at the time. Team Mayweather is scared of the risk involved - the Floyd boys will deny it but it's plain and basic common sense. I'm not saying I would go about it any differently if I were in Floyds shoes you obviously want to milk the cow as long as you can - but for having ducked Williams and Margarito he has three times as many people calling for his head at this point. Notice nobody even on these forums is discussing Mayweather/Oscar: Reloaded - it's a wasted fight. Everyone wants to see Mayweather put to the test not on some grand stage again so he can fox trot with The Golden Ploy.

    I rest my case.

What YOUR flawed explanation has is it's MONETARY value. He has all the PR fans on his side but it doesn't show in PPV buyrates or even HBO Neilsen ratings. That's the main argument Floyd is making, the other fights he are taking are nowhere near as competitive but they garner him much more money and mass appeal.

Floyd is legitimately concerned about Cotto, but he also knows what he's doin. The man is pissin people off not takin the fight cuz he knows the demand will be hotter the longer everybody's forced to wait. The excuses about Cotto not drawin or bein unproven is bull****. Floyd knows that, and he knows fans know it. He's really fallin in love wit this whole bad guy Money May thing. But like I keep on sayin, the talk will be all over after Cotto and Tony fight and he finishes his ****** Oscar rematch. We'll find out if he wanted the fight to get bigger or if he was just duckin like a coward.

So Floyd is two fights outside of making the SAME exact sales as Cotto. Not to parrot what already has been said - but why does Floyd feel he is above giving Cotto the chance that Gatti, Oscar and Hatton gave him? Because he doesn't want to not be the king of the hill that's why. All that "lifestyle flashy" king of the world type talk won't be taken seriously or respected with a 1 in that loss column. He's so in love with the concept of being invincible that its sickening.

Man that took you what, a couple hours? Jumping on what Ellerbe/Floyd says and talking like its fact.

That's all you guys have. You echo everything your boy says.

By the way, Hatton's fights before Floyd's had very disappointing ratings. So that logic fails.

Stop with the Floyd vs Cotto threads. The fight WILL happen, nobody is running from anyone, they just want to make sure the time is right and the money is right.

If Cotto beats Margarito as many think he will, then the fight WILL happen. Kill these wack ass threads

You made some good points buddy! It is OBVIOUS that he knows what he is doing. People are boiling over like if they don't fight 2mar the world will somehow end! For now, they both have fights lined up, so what is the use to continue to BEAT THE DEAD HORSE? Cotto beats Marg, and HOPEFULLY, Stevie Forbes beats Oscar, then we HAVE THIS FIGHT IN SEPT!!! Is that a bad idea? (reminds me when Sturm BEAT Oscar before his fight with Hop)

I personally feel that alot of guys on here both fans and haters, have allowed Mayweather to get under their skin, and it seems that people are taking things very PERSONAL. I am a fan of Mayweather and I want him to fight Cotto and NOT Oscar, but I am not going to throw fits because it doesn't happen right now like I want it too. I want it to happen just as much as everyone else, but I see that it ISN'T right now, so what is the use of complaining about it? I (me, myself) am not going to discredit Cotto as not being ready. I think the way to find out if he is ready for Mayweather is to let him hop in that ring and see...DUH....BUT real talk these comments that posters make are funny to read. "I USED to be a Mayweather fan...blah, blah". "Floyd is a coward, he is fake...., blah, blah". "If he doesn't do x, y, z, he is duckin....". CALM DOWN NSB.

We have had a GREAT year of boxing thus far and we got some good boxing coming up for the remainder of the year. Enjoy it...

Floyd has already proven himself in his youth. He doesnt need or want Cotto. If Cotto gets by Margarito maybe he will get Williams. Meh, just forget Floyd. STOP CHALLENGING PEOPLE ON THE WAY OUT, FOCUS ON THE NEW GUYS: Berto, Williams... Those can be big stars too
