Mayweather easily beats Margarito, the same way he beat Baldomir. Cotto would be a tougher fight, although I think it’s a fight he could win. But if Margarito beats Cotto – which is a strong possibility, I don’t think the Cotto-Mayweather fight will ever happen, even though it should.

I would like to see Mayweather in against someone with some speed like a Mosley or Clottey. When was the last time he fought someone who was as quick as him…besides Zab Judah. Mayweather’s made his money, now he needs to cement his legacy by fighting the best out there(in his division)….before his skills are diminished.

I think he wants Cotto knocked out the box for all the talk. At the very least.. Floyd doesn't seem to have problems acting like these guys aren't right in front of him anyway.
I don't think Floyd's pride will allow him to retire without facin the winner of this fight cuz he'd get torn to shreds by the public, and in that case any hate towards him would be 100% justified. I think he wants the Cotto fight to be as big as possible, so he's puttin it off as long as he can, which is the end of this year after he fights DLH again and the Cotto-Marg fight is over with. I agree he'd get away with dodgin Marg if he won more so than Cotto, but since Cotto is worth more $, I don't think he'd want Miguel to lose.

He will fight either of them if they get him to rake in the dough.
Really? You make Floyd sound like a fearless gigolo.

I honestly think Floyd is conscientious of losing, and he's watching all the angles. Look how he fights, symbolically.. He's pragmatic this guy.. I don't think he'll fight anyone he isn't 110% he can beat fairly easily at this stage. His pockets are fat. He'll only fight for the spotlight, that's what I'm seeing.

As I just said in the other thread; Floyd is not keen on natural pressure fighters. Some people would argue that Margarito and Cotto are both natural pressure fighters.

            Getting the excuses ready huh?

For a couple of weeks now i was thinking ,If Floyd beat Cotto thats going to be the excuse.

I really really wish Floyd would fight Cotto next so whoever wins there can`t be any excuses.

I'm a little surprised honestly. To me that's giving Floyd alot of credit in terms of future-sight. Maybe more than a person can have. Floyd didn't think Cotto could beat Judah or Mosley. I wonder if he thinks Cotto can beat Margarito.

The idea that Floyd is legitimately waiting for the Cotto fight to blowup into something bigger is not really it to me at all. Isn't that just him gassing about why he won't fight Cotto?

You`ve got to be the most paranoid poster on this board.

If Floyd beats Cotto Floyd won`t get any props ,they`ll just say Cotto was washed up because of all those wars he been in.

funny thing about floyd is ,he thinks he's the greatest, and when he says it his fans believe it.so him wanting to retire is justified to them.but the fact of the matter is he isn't.and anyone who disagrees IS a fan boy.it's cool for him to let the fight stew, but his fans need to be converted to the truth,he aint the ****ing greatest,no matter how much he says it.

I'm fast losin patience with him, but I still respect Floyd for now so I've been willin to give him the benefit of the doubt. I'm sure in his heart he'd love to see Cotto KTFO by Tony, but in his head he'd love the big payday of a Cotto fight. The greed in him would make him feel better takin a risky fight he don't want for a ****load of money than watchin Cotto lose and not takin any fight at all. I wanna believe if Marg wins Floyd would man up and fight him, but there's a bigger chance he'd say **** it and retire if Tony won than if Cotto won.

Margarito is an easier opponent for Mayweather because Mayweather's style is perfect to offset Margarito's.

And, he's also making the fans salivate for the fight so he can make more money from it.
I think he definitely wants Cotto to win though. Cotto can potentailly bring more $$$ to the table than margarito and he also brings his undefeated record as well. Money and legacy is Mayweather trademark, P4P Baby!!
