Thats real dissapointing!!! Ellerbee is a walking puppet with 10 mouths to feed!!! These guys should be talking good about the sport instead of sounding like they are bigger than the sport. Maybe its just an overall attach on Top Rank. I wish De La Hoya would have retired after he lost to HopkinsDuring a recent interview with the NY Post, Leonard Ellerbe, the advisor/manager to pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr, said Miguel Cotto is not at the point where he is important enough to land a fight with Floyd. Ellerbe cites poor television ratings (on HBO) for Cotto's recent defense of the WBA welterweight title against Alfonso Gomez. He does feel Cotto is good fighter who improves with each passing fight. It's a cliche used in the boxing community to describe a fighter of little marketability or skill. I.E Cab Driver, Tomatato Can, Stiff, or Bum. Would you feel better if I called the guys he faced back then Tomato Cans...Comment

All boxers face bums on the way to a world title, and when one wins it, including multiple lineal titles, it adds up to the fact that you know nothing about boxing.Comment

The fact remains that after Pacquiao won his 1st so called title, he continued to fight bums, lose his strap on the scales to bums, get KO'd by bums years after, before stepping into the spotlight. While Mayweather fought real champions and continue to fight real champions and remained undefeated in the process never relinquishing yet reveling in the spotlight.
Big Difference.Last edited by Eastbay Giant; 07-23-2010, 09:05 PM.Comment
