    I beg your pardon?

It was a tough fight to score as some rounds were really close. Taylor had the ring generalship, but Pavlik did more work in there and closed strong. The fight was really tough fight and although I had Pavlik winning, I can see why someone would have it close the other way also.

Taylor will give anyone up to Light Heavy nightmares in the ring. He has the best jab around, great hand speed and power.

You never heard the last of Jermain, he just might be the man at super middle now. Time will tell.

I suppose he did give Hopkins big problems and Hopkins gave Calzaghe big problems.

I just don't think his style could beat Joe ..

AND, If you become Middleweight champ with wins over Hopkins and a Draw with Wright... u arent a "wasted talent"

The kid is still young, he has a long while yet. The Trinidad fight should be exciting
Good post. It was a close fight. I was leaning towards Taylor, but I didn't have a problem with the decision. I was hoping he would let his hands go more. He does have stamina issues it seems, and I'm sure he didn't want to get in a lot of exchanges and risk getting drilled, but he did seem a bit too tentative.

We won't know till they get in the ring I suppose. Taylor is incredibly gifted and has the tools to beat anyone IMO as long as his head is on straight.

Pavlik's power would make anyone tentative. I thought Taylor fought the second fight great.

Serious? Taylor couldn't take Pavlik's pace. He'd crumble under the intense work rate of Calzaghe, IMO.

The best thing about that fight was how good Taylor was using his jab. He had abandoned it since the Hopkins fights it seemed, and he was really hitting Kelly flush with his jab in that fight, when he threw it. Towards the end he didn't throw as many, but the fact that he used his jab a lot told me that he really was very focused for the fight, and stuck to his game plan.

I hope that these losses don't get JT down, he still has sooo much potential left at 168. Pavlik can rule at 160 and hopefully Taylor can take over 168 when Joe's gone (for good). Taylor vs. Pavlik III for the SMW titles? End of 2009/Beginning of 2010?

Good post. I still think Taylor has much more to do in boxing, and I think he can take 168. Another Pavlik fight down the road doesn't sound too bad either.
