..Willy D-Loff: Difference Between ABRAHAM and KESSLER...

'So Arthur Abraham, who already fought Edison Miranda once and got a busted jaw for his trouble, has signed to fight him again. What does that tell you about Mikkel Kessler?'

Now, I'm not even a fan of Abraham, but that does seem to speak volumes about all three men involved.

    Thoughts?

I think Mogens Palle looking for a Mundine fight to fullfill Kesslers wish on a title fight is a smart move. That Mundine ducks Kessler and moves a weightclass down after his joke of a trilogy with Soliman, is Mundines problem.

Kessler & Palle got Kessler moved up to #1 Contender spot and Miranda as #2, and Palle had HBO in on his idea on a Kessler-Miranda fight for a vacant title, but then Miranda backs out because of a fight with Abraham.

So what does that tell me about Kessler? I don't know.. That he'd smash Miranda into pieces if they ever fought, that's about the only thing I can think of.

Kessler is just like Cotto, he's just the fighter.. He leaves everything to his promotor... Which is a bad thing in this case, because Mogens Palle is ****.

Abraham's promoters seem to be confident in him.

His promoters could easily make him stay in Germany and defend the title against mandatories like they have done for a while now but instead, they have now decided to go to the US and beat the best out there.

I give respect to Abraham because he is willing to step it up and fight against the man that broke his jaw (and possibly Pavlik if he wins) but lets not forget, Kessler fought Calzaghe in Wales with a broken hand and did not complain about it.

Mikkel Kessler's promoter Palle messed up, he declined the Miranda fight and tried to get Kessler a title fight with Mundine.
Did he seriously think Mundine would fight Kessler?
After Mundine lost a wide decision to Kessler in his own homecountry while Kessler was not even 100%? Not a chance.

It tells me that Warriors fancy Mirandas chance vs. Abraham a lot more than vs. Kessler. That must be the conclusion after Warriors turned down HBO regarding the Kessler fight.

Of Abraham it tells us that his people has high hopes for him. They also must fancy his chances vs. Miranda. Or perhaps they are taking a calculated risk where winning would mean a big fight with Pavlik. Losing will not mean a loss of Arthurs belt so it will at worst have as consequense that Abraham will keep defending his title for big eurochecks in Germany.

As for Kessler it doesn't say anything other than he probably leaves the decisionmaking in the hands of his promotor.

Am I Kessler fan and I must say that I'm dissapointed that he didnt want to face Miranda. He initially stated that he wanted more US exposure and that fight would had done it.

As far as I know Palle never had a fighter as good as Kessler (who was his best before?) and so he doesn't know how to play things.

IF they ever fought. He'd actually have to WANT the fight, first. Which, he has avoided.

Mogens Palle backs out because = Kessler wants a title fight
Kessler could get it against Miranda for a vacant title on HBO
Miranda backs out = He was already working on a Abraham rematch

= Both guys had their reasons.
