It's not Cotto's style that could beat Floyd, but Cotto's intelligence

You don't think Castillo's success in the first fight had anything to do with tactics? Did Castillo just come forward at Floyd and do well because of that? Or did he always step in with his jab to get on the inside as much as possible, and cut off the ring so Floyd would be on the ropes frequently?

Castillo's ring intelligence set his ass way apart from both Hatton and Jesus Chavez in their performance in the ring when they fought Mayweather.
That's the way you have to beat him. Mayweather's whole thing is his timing and awareness of proper distance. You have to play chess with him, more than just going in there and trying to beat him up.

And you cant overlook his ability on the inside like Hatton did.

im not saying cotto can't win using his skills though...both have weapons to win the fight.....
I think cotto is the most complete fighter in his prime that mayweather would have faced, I agree it could go either way, but it seems good left hand work is what you need to beat floyd. I just think miguel has all the punches and is one of the few fighters today who actually looks really effective when he changes stance. I think it would be closer than oscar, and it would be nice to see mayweather take some punishment for once which i think he would in a fight with cotto

ThaT'S THE ONLY point some posters were making, that Cotto's chess game isn't up to par with Floyd's and D-dub and 25 on the wrist are calling people huggers and saying they aren't reading the post when in fact their arguments are based EXACTLY on what he said.

why are you and the other cumbucket the ONLY ones not to understand my post? huh? and who the **** owns me? where? as soon as i son their asses, they're never to be seen again.

its gotten to the point were we cant even be hypothetical about anything relating to Floyd.

Boxing Fan: - "You know who may be able to give Floyd problems because of their size advantage?"

Floyd Stan: - "It doesnt matter because Floyd will beat them so theres no use in talking about it"

Boxing Fan: "Wait, this dude has a.."

Floyd Stan: - "Did you year me? NO point in discussing because Floyd is better in EVERY category."

Boxing Fan: - "They may be true but you never know untill they get in the.."

Floyd Stan: - "NO! Are you ******? YOU DONT KNOW **** ABOUT BOXING. NO ONE CAN BEAT FLOYD IN ANYTHING. IF HE'S LIKE A FIGHTER YOU CREATE IN FIGHT NIGHT WITH ALL THE STRENGTHS MAXED OUT. YOU DONT KNOW ****. THERES NO POINT IN DEBATING THIS."

How the **** is a fighter "smart"?

Is it backpedalling in 90% of your fights.

Yeah, wow, Mayweather is just so fawking smart.

I wish i was as smart as him.

              .......seriously.

Those had nothing to do with ring intelligence. Corrales and Hatton just simply didn't have it in them to do anything else. No amount of brain power would have helped them that night.

Miguel Cotto is a more patient fighter and methodical with his punches. His accuracy could win him the fight. His body punching could win him the fight. And yes he showed some other dimensions against Mosley in the late rounds but is he really gonna do that against Floyd????

I doubt that.........it's all accuracy. Can he land on Floyd the punches that all others couldn't and perhaps knock him out or win enough or rounds or will it be just another Floyd victory in the bank?
