It's not Cotto's style that could beat Floyd, but Cotto's intelligence

NO YOU are ****ing sad, pathetic, and can't even understand your OWN words. If you wanted to make a case that Cotto is an intelligent fighter make that case WITHOUT comparing him to Floyd or beating Floyd. Even IF you used the word IF you are INSINUATING that his intelligence would allow him to come out on top against Floyd and you were OWNED by every user in this thread about that insinuation so you try to switch it up. MISSION FAILED.

he smart enough to kno if he facin a superior fighter he gotta sneak in a couple lowblows...lol but on tha topic, cotto most likely wont beat floyd, floyd is a master of tha art of boxing, tha art in a sense tha point is not to get hit, but to do tha hittin. floyd could have tha best defense in a ring in tha world right now, he also one of tha current top 5 fastest boxers, for those reasons alone iont tihnk cottoll get past floyd.

        Try again.

Cotto got into a brawl with Torres from the start because he had him hurt in the first round, and got caught with a big shot when he was going for the finish.
That was a horrible rebuttal. That's ok though you are still cool just not correct on these sort of things. I told you WHY he chose to fight that way and he still dominated most of that fight. Ok what does getting caught with a shot have to do with brawling for the rest of the bout? If I hadn't seen some of Cotto's earlier fights I would say he had no boxing ability before that bout but he DOES have them and he has shown them before, I just think he couldn't help himself from brawling in that bout.

explain again. i said "IF Cotto were to beat Floyd, it would be because of his intellegence, not because of his style." You're telling me that everything is already predistined in boxing then right? there is NO way in the world that Floyd will EVER lose right? There was no way that Andy Lee was lose to Vera right? there was NO way Tyson was gonna lose to Douglas right?

I never said Cotto was just as smart as Floyd or even smarter. But you never know how 2 boxers react to each other UNTILL they fight. Who knew Joe was going to be scared of Hop for half of the fight? No one did. Floyd can be a MILLION times smarter than Cotto, but just for one night, Cotto may be able to do something for him that will work that will be able to trump Floyd's physical ability, not MENTAL ability, but PHYSICAL. Floyd may KNOW what he needs to do, but would he be able to PHYSICALLY do it? you dont know that.

So again, you pathetic excuses for "boxing fans", tell me where I said that ****.

It is making me laugh that Floyd fans are getting indignant that 2501 is apparently "dissing" their boy.

If you all could learn to take in the meaning of a post, you would realize that 2501 says that Mayweather is completely out of Cotto's league. If Mayweather loses the fight, it is because he didn't execute his game plan effectively, or Miguel Cotto literally had the perfect game plan (which would qualify as ring intelligence), because 2501 is saying that Miguel is not going to win because of his style or physical gifts, he is going to have to come up with something mental to make up for his deficiencies in every other category.

Wow, it's really hard to believe how hard some Floyd fans will argue to try to defend their guy. They do it without taking in the meaning of what is being said first.

The very suggestion that Cotto's ring intellegince is ANYWHERE NEAR Floyd Mayweather's is laughable at best.

exactly what the **** im saying. these so called "boxing fans" dont even care to read the ****ing post. they are already programmed with what to post as soon as they see the names "Cotto" and "Floyd" in a thread title.

NO. Cotto could win but Mayweather could just as easily win, Cotto is a great fighter and he is one of the most intelligent fighters i've seen. He knows how to fight to the best of his abilities to pull out the W. Mayweather does the same, he knew ODLH would be too big for him if he tried to go toe to toe so he fought a tactical abeit a boring fight, Hatton was furious with his footwork and put on constant pressure and rousehouse tactics, floyd did the same floyd negates their best assets. Against Baldomir he fought another boring fight but he wasn't KOing Baldomir and he had seen how judah even with his speed lost to Baldo.
For me personally I'd have Mayweather a favourite but in all realism its proberbly at 50/50 fight.
