Floyd wouldnt move that high in weight.

he didnt look very good at 154 against an older oscar de la hoya (and he wasnt even at the 154lb limit...i think he weighted like 150).

floyd looked slow and sluggish compared to how he looks at welterweight.

you wont see floyd past 154 until he starts to slide out of his prime; then i can see him going to 154 then up to 160 (but not further beyond that).

mayweather will retire before then though, he wont fight at 160 because when he reaches that weight he'll probably be beaten.

****** article, there is NO WAY in HELL he will ever fight joe.

Just imagine if he stepped in and called Joe out to fight him in Nov/December for the 168lb titles.

I doubt the height difference would matter with Calzaghe. Floyd has fought 5'11/6' foot tall guys before. Strength wouldn't be a factor against someone with Joe's style. He would have more size and strengths problems with Pavlik then Calzaghe. It's kinda like when Hopkins was willing to move up to heavyweight and fight Oleg Maskaev but said that he would never fight the Klitschko's or Peter because they were too big and too strong. Stylistically it just made sense for Hopkins. He saw an oppritunity and wanted to take it to become a heavyweight champion.

Just the same, stylistically this fight makes sense for Floyd.

From what I've seen against Hopkins, I predict that Floyd Mayweather could do just as well as B-Hop defensively, using his legs moving around but would do a whole lot better offensively landing more eye catching blows that would influence the judges.

            1. Floyd would move around and never let Joe close enough to do his pitty patty point scoring flurries

            2. Would use his jab by throwing it at Joe's stomach as he does most of the time.

            3. Would throw the straight right much faster and more accurate then Hopkins did and enough of those to win rounds.

Predicton: Floyd Mayweather by 117-111-esque scores.

SMW is the toughest division out there. But anything, Floyd can do anything.

Haha you PBF fans make me laugh. Whats wrong? Was Joe getting a bit too much attention for your liking? Did u have to some how bring it back round to how great floyd is, how he could beat anyone and how much you'd like to suck his ****?

Be real for gods sake. Floyd isn't even close to being able to compete with SMW's, its knowhere near a natural weight for him and considering he ignores the stiff competition in his own weight class, there's no way he'd step up and take on Joe no matter how much money is on offer. He likes that 0 on his record way too much to even consider it. Same reason Joe wouldn't consider stepping up and facing Wlad.

People have limits, your man () does too. Deal with it!

It'd be crazy for him to move up to super middleweight, the size differential would be too much and his body wouldn't carry that extra weight well. He wouldn't be effective.

I'm a bit concerned that some people actually think that Mayweather has a chance against Calzaghe. It'd be a brutal, but mercifully short, beating.

Also the original poster should take into account that for wrestle mania floyd weighed in with all his close and gear on. Therefore im guessing he was walking around at something closer to 152-155 maybe... In terms of boxing ability im sure if him and calzaghe were the same size floyd would win no question but calzaghe is way to big. Remember, fighters usually walke around about 10-15 pounds higher then thier fight wieght. Calzaghe came into to the fight with hopkins at 181pounds so he probally wieghs closer to 190-195. Floyed never wieghs more then 150-155.
