yaman, i appreciate that counterpunchers have to use the ring, and i have seen many hopkins fights and was a huge fan in the past, but the fact is that he is finished and you are too focused in what he used to do in a fight rather than looking at what he did against calzaghe. In the past hopkins would make any fighter fight HIS fight - that cagey, counterpuching style that we all love/d, what happened in this fight? he fought at calzaghes pace and style, a clear indication that he wasnt in the fight.
Again what did he do in the fight? he would run around and throw his right hand and his head simultaneously then clinch and throw his customary borderline punches away from the eyeline of the ref. In between those moments calzaghe was simply outscoring him by dictating the pace and the terms on which the fight was fought. In every fight that hopkins has ever won it was b-hop that was in control of those factors, not his opponent. With respect man, you are living in the past in regards to hopkins.Last edited by thiskind; 04-23-2008, 03:04 AM.

Bernard Hopkins showed his usual unsportsman-like conduct after he got his butt kicked by Joe Calzaghe last Saturday in Las Vegas. After the bout, he did his best to convince his audience that he'd won, that he had given Joe a boxing lesson, that the decision was a bad one. He refused to give the man, who had so obviously trounced him, any credit whatsoever for landing 232 times to the head and body over twelve-rounds.
