Hopkins throws one punch at a time, with some combinations. However, that isn't the combination for rowdy American cheers.
Very good point and never really thought about it that way.

Really reminds you of De La Hoya dont it? I swear the dude can throw a four punch combo and make his fans and announcers go crazy without landing anything.

Yeah, a De La Hoya example of that would be his fight with Whitaker. Thru 90 punches, crowd went crazy, only thing he landed was the fight date. De La Hoya atleast thru with power, so the danger was there.

However, Calzaghe has power, but takes the speed route. Which is cool. Calzalghe can land much more often, though. Hopkins is just very elusive.

I still didn't see Calzaghe landing much of anything the whole fight. I have to laugh when people say he out worked Hopkins. Thats another reason why I feelmost are fanboys on this forum. You can't watch boxing for years and still not be able to distinguish what lands and what does'nt. If Hopkins throws 30 punches and lands 5 and Calzaghe throws 70 and lands 3, thats Hopkins round. They might not like his style but unless you get penalyzed for clinching, its not so illegal. By the way, I'm not buying the punch stat numbers at all.

i may not mention it but i wont 4get this cos its too much of a snuff for a great boxer to hav been wrong like this. he clearly did not lose this fight in my eyes and is being penalised for non boxing reasons
