Jones will make for a more cometitive fight than Pavlik, that much is obvious. Pavlik has an "ok" jab and a big right hand.

Anyone who would Pavlik to beat Calzaghe on the basis of a good right hand is nuts, Hopkins had good joy with his right hand because he sat back against the counter puncher. Pavlik comes forward in straight lines, big big difference.

Mikkel Kessler who Calzaghe beat before Hopkins has a better right hand than Pavlik, both have similar styles in the sense that they fight in straight lines, they both probably hit about the same too. The difference is though Kessler can box and he'd pretty much **** Pavlik if they ever got it on, thats no disrespect to Kelly, i like him and think he's a very good fighter but he is limited.

Calzaghe would stand outside Pavlik all night long keeping his lead foot (the right) outside Kellys lead foot (the left) and circle him poping out the jab and lightning fast combos. Pavlik comes in straight lines, no special effects, fighters who come in straight lines need to set themself to get punches off, against a smart moving busy southpaw like Calzaghe Pavlik would not be able to do this, he'd be frustrated and out of the fight within 4 rounds, although he'd last 12 because Calzaghe doesn't stop realy anyone these days because his hands are so fragile.

Against a guy like Pavlik, look for Calzaghe to land between 300 and 400 punches over 12 rounds. Pavlik would have not a chance in hell! None what-so-ever.
