I agree, but I also think Guzman is moving to 135 fairly soon, if not after the Arthur bout, not shortly thereafter.

The Lightweight tournament will take a year, or more. No way he moves up before grabbing all the belts, since nobodys at 130, its vacant.

I agree Bob Arum is hurting Pacman, he's making him look like a punk. Pacman should clean up the 130lbs division. and then move on.

I think Bob Arum and Pacman both are scard of Guzman and Edwin Valero.

Some Filipinos get mad, but it seems true.

David Diaz and Pacman fight is a joke. Pacman's winning by TKO on 4-or 5th round.

He should get past Alex Arthur fairly easily and has already beat Barrios and Soto. That leaves Valero or Juan Manuel for him to fight, my guess being that he fights Marquez. IMO Prime Marquez beats Guzman.. but not the one of today. If Pacquaio decides to leave the division then he would have accomplished this by defeating Marquez.. If not then a fight with Pacquiao could be set up. After watching Manny P v Juan Ma, I am confident Joan Guzman beats Pac.

Anyway, just getting my predicition out there..
I will bump this thread in a years time to see if I was right.
Eventhou Pman didnt look his best against JMM, I dont know about all that, that shoulder role style is all wrong for south paws. I'd love to watch that fight.

Guzman barley survived with Soto. He got the decision but a very close one at that, one that could have gone to Soto. Marquez quickness is what has left him as he's aged but he still has his counter punching on point along with his timing which is great. Guzman would still have his hands full with Marquez who can box or brawl. Pacquiao only knows one way to fight though he did back up more in the 2nd Marquez fight.

Guzman is a fun fighter too watch with the right opponets. But he like Pac is too big for 130 and im sure he's having trouble making weight, that or his pudgyness in the Soto fight is from lack of training?

The players still at 130, (notice pacs only fought one out of the list)

                  Juan Manuel Marquez
                  Humberto Soto
                  Joan Guzman
                  Edwin Valero
                  Rocky Juarez

That fight was pretty one-sided in Guzman's favor. He had Soto very discouraged in that fight. Guzman showed tremendous ring generalship against a good fighter but in no way was he in danger of losing a decision to him.

I disaggree. Soto was the aggressor and landing and forcing the fight. Making a fighter miss is great but what about the counter punch landing?

Either way, imo, Soto is still a great threat at 130.
