Joan Guzman, the new king @ 130?

I'm predicting Guzman to be the new 130 king by 09.
He should get past Alex Arthur fairly easily and has already beat Barrios and Soto. That leaves Valero or Juan Manuel for him to fight, my guess being that he fights Marquez. IMO Prime Marquez beats Guzman.. but not the one of today. If Pacquaio decides to leave the division then he would have accomplished this by defeating Marquez.. If not then a fight with Pacquiao could be set up. After watching Manny P v Juan Ma, I am confident Joan Guzman beats Pac.

Anyway, just getting my predicition out there..
I will bump this thread in a years time to see if I was right.

    That's a pretty fair prediction.

Their all leaving the divsion to Lightweight to fight in a tournament. Hes the only guy left at 130. Nobodies at 130 pounds for him to fight, so he can unify the belts.

he should be proactive and go after a belt at 135.then he'll have a chance at marquez and manny.

          true that.
I don't think Pacquiao or Marquez lasts in the 135 division though.

Marquez doesn't want anything to do with him. Marquez had a chance to fight Guzman but opted to fight Barrios instead. And we all know that Arum is keeping Pac away from Guzman as well. I hope he can unify & get the big fight he deserves. I want to see if he's as good as I think he is.

I might go to the Arthur fight if I can get tickets as they are fighting about 10 minutes from my house where I used to box, Guzman will be nervous coming to the ring with all the drunk Scottish fans hurling absue at him

                My thoughts exactley!

Someone was giving me **** about how he is 31 but I don't think his age matters much because he hasn't had much ring years with only 28 fights because of problems with promoters.

I think he should be able to accomplish all this despite his age and isn't an old 31 like some other fighters.

While I love Guzman he's not fuccin with Marquez, hell he even had some trouble beating Barrios, Marquez is on another level. I think Guz has a chance but Dinamita is to good imo. But that fight would be good althoug there all leaving to lightweight which effectively makes Superfeatherweight TRASH

Extactly, everyone esle is leaving without fighting him, so theres nothing left for him to do other than grab all the belts. Because hes not signed up to the tournament
