I'm fast losing respect for Kessler as are many people. He was and kinda is a very cool respectable guy, but his behaviour and words on Calzaghe recent have been down right jealous and un called for.

I was surprised he said he wanted Bernard to beat Joe, so he could get a rematch. That guy, his team, and advisor's are deluded to think they'd ever get a rematch, move on.

To wish a fighter to lose, just because he beat you and you want a rematch, is pretty lame in my book. He needs to grow up.

If anything Joe winning makes him look better because it proves Kessler is also up there with Hopkins and the likes. The Kessler fight was as hard as Hopkins for Joe roughly speaking.

I'm sticking David Haye in the same box for routing for Hopkins aswell. It was partially due to being a fan, but mostly imo because he wants to be the biggest Brit coming to the USA, and he's miffed with team Calazghe post Enzo Mac fight.

Both of them aren't displaying much maturity if you ask me, eager to impress and for things to suite them, but ultimately lazy/kidding themselves.

Respect for those actually just supporting Joe, Amir Khan, Ricky Hatton, the whole Calzaghe team, a few celebs and many more.

of course it's not possible that he actually thought hopkins won right?

"he's clearly jealous just like everyone else who scored it for hopkins" lol..
he prefers clean punching over workrate and he's been consistent with that, thats why he had taylor beating pavlik by a couple of rounds in their last fight

      stop looking for excuses...
lots of threads have been made about analysts and boxers who think popkins won and in every thread the same calzaghe fans are looking for some motive behind why they might score it for popkins...

maybe alot of people just think he won in a close match

No it's true. Hopkins landed the harder punches all night. Joe might have one on the technicality of outworking the 43 year old man but his punches where pathetic. He might have landed 100 more but so what. They where fluff. Hopkins also got the moral victory of putting Calzaghe on the canvas which is the best part of the fight. Calzaghe didn't do himself any favors with this performance. This is a case where old Hopkins is victorious in defeat and Calzaghe goes down a notch with a win.

I though Hopkins should've gotten the nod.

He obviously wanted Calzaghe to lose because he feels he might win a rematch. He might not get a rematch, but I think it's quite natural to wish for a mega-payday and a fight he feels he could win.

Regarding him scoring the fight for Hopkins; well it was a split decision and I think most of us can agree that the fight was close. He is entitled to his opinion as well as you are.

Good call. After he punked out of the Miranda fight Kessler needs to shut the **** up about Joe and just fight somebody.

Kessler is a good guy but he is totally wrong if he thinks Hopkins won the fight.

Naah, the more times I watch the fight the further I give it to Joe. Bernard really dissappointed me, the rough stuff I can deal with but the acting was bollocks, are you telling me Hopkins would have reacted like that if he would have been hit in a prison fight, would be ****.

If Bernard wins this then your saying its ok to win a round by basically running away, yes there were good counterpunches, but he took more back. Calzaghe took all the risks because Bernard was not prepared to, Joe had to go forward to impress the US judges. Agression has always been counted in Las Vegas fights and Hopkins would have known that.

Saying that, Joe made it more difficult by not respecting Bernard and not studying him more.
