    Kessler: Hopkins won this fight!

Mikkel Kessler watched the fight between Joe Calzaghe and Bernhard Hopkins from ringside: "It was a bad fight. An even fight. But Hopkins was the better boxer, had the cleanest and hardest blows. Tonight we have seen that Calzaghe's open-glove punching also goes in America."

Kessler can, according to danish tabloid BT, find comfort in Calzaghe's statement after the fight, that the win over Kessler was more satisfactory than the win over Hopkins. Calzaghe said that he fought to the best of his abilities vs. Kessler.

Kessler is just bitter about losing to Joe.

Not surprised, he scored the Pavlik vs Taylor rematch for Taylor because of clean punching.

It's clear that he appreciates clean counter punching over aggression and workrate.

He also wants a rematch with Calzaghe but it's never going to happen.

I agree. He won't get the rematch soon as he lost the first fight clearly. No one scored it for Kessler (that i have heard anyway). The only way he will get a rematch is if Calzaghe stays at Lightheavy for a while and vacates the belt and them wants them back, he would fight Kessler them (imo Kessler is the best 168 without Joe there)

Yeah it always seems like the when there is a big fight, the loser of the previous fight to the victor never will give that fighter there due. I can't ever take comments like that serious.

Seems to me that Kessler is really trying hard to get the rematch with Joe. Every time I see a comment from him in the media I see Joe coming up as part of it. He needs to forget that, get busy, and show the world he's got what it takes to take Joe's place in future. If he doesn't fight soon he's in serious danger of having the Joe fight be the biggest he ever has and the one that people remember him for.

I wouldn't actually mind seeing Calzaghe/ Kessler again, I think it would be a good fight, but like I say, it is never going to happen.

I was thinking this at first but what does Kessler have to gain by saying that Hopkins beat the only man who beat him? It doesn't really make him look better does it? In a way it makes him look bad because if Hopkins beat Joe and he couldn't, then he is almost admitting that Hopkins is better than Joe and himself.

I would like to see Kessler vs. Calzaghe 2. I think Kessler could make it a closer fight this time.

Yeah. A second fight should be more competitive considering Kessler's broken hand in the first fight.
