Trainer Freddie Roach, who worked the corner of Bernard Hopkins last Saturday, feels the Philadelphia fighter should retire before he gets hurt. Hopkins lost a split-decision verdict to Joe Calzaghe, but has a possible rematch on the table with Felix Trinidad. I agree, B-HOP should retire. He has nothing left to prove. He gave a spirited effort against Calzaghe (many thought he won, including myself, espn.com, the assossiated press) and should retire on a high note, being he's never been beaten up in the ring. Quite honestly ive never seen bernards face look brused and battered after a fight.Comment

Hopkins has had a great career! It's the perfect time to retire. He was showing the signs of a shot fighter and still put Calzaghe on the canvas. Calzaghe will never be half the fighter Bernard was. That fight was a great way to get out considering how other great fighters careers have ended. Time to be an ambassador for the sport Bernard, It's a young man's game.Comment
