Roy JJ. A true longer term American legend, with similarities to Joe and the greater possibilities for a magnificent fight.
I don't see the point in Joe struggling to go so low in weight again, to fight only with a risk to lose his SMW titles. Let Kessler or someone take him on at an un tested weight if Pavlik really wants to.
He comes forward and gets hit, Joe can get reckless when he has to find an opponent and gets hit by a shots he doesn't see coming. Joe has already been in with a similarish fighter to Pavlik in Kessler and figured him out. I can't see what Pavlik does better than Kessler and whilst a huge middleweight he is still that a middleweight, Kessler probably should be campaigning at light heavy. Pavlik is a straight puncher and predominately comes in in straight lines. He has excellent power at middleweight but it might not carry to where a potential fight with Joe would take place.
Roy Jones is an excellent counterpuncher when he wants to be and this only guy out there with better handspeed than Joe, he will also be harder to hit that Pav. His winky impression in the Trinidad fight was not half bad.
I'm not sure Pavlik is so similar to Kessler, Kelly's stance is fairly unique imo and might trouble Joe, it wouldn't give him the open ness to get in these, and into the angles he likes. He's another awkward customer I think.
I'd say Pavlik because he is yet to be beat. It's close though, Name vs Undefeated streak. If Pavlik turns out to be **** after his fight with Joe then he becomes another Lacy while Roy Jones is Roy Jones...
Pavlik makes more sense. A current true title holder who beat a current champ just like Joe did at the weight that Joe made his mark in. Pavlik is also the far more dangerous.
