Name one world class fighter he has beat in his career easily...He grabs and holds and rubs against his opponent like he is in a gay ****o flick but some how that makes him great? And it is not because of his age because he has been doing this for years. It is one thing to be a good defensive fighter and another thing in being a fighter who just tries to avoid contact which is what Hopkins does.
Beating De La Hoya a fighter who was natural light weight doesn't mean you are great and if i said what i really thought about De La Hoya i would get banned.Trinidad was a natural welterweight and Winky Wright was a natural jr middlweight and against each of these fighters did he dominate? No he just barely managed to get by.Tarver was the only fighter larger than himself that he beat and Who the heck is Tarver?A man known for beating Roy Jones Jr who was on the down side of his career and it turned out Roy can't take a punch.
Alot of fighters through out boxing history padded their records by fighting journey fighters or fighters who average at best but great fighters destroy fighters like this.I have been watching hopkins for at least 15 years and i can't name just one fighter he completely destroyed. The guy is highly overrated because he is loud and obnoxious which is what this country loves. He makes racist statements but nobody seems to mind (This country is falling apart in so many ways. What do you think people would say if a white fighter said a black fighter could never beat him? They would say he was racist.I am a black man and i found that statement to be highly offensive and which is why i wanted him to lose even though i am 100 percent pro white and black america..This is our country.Well it used to be at least).
Hopkins is slow handed for a middleweight and he isn't really a hard puncher. He is not fast on his feet or anything else you would assume a all time great would have.Even his chin is overrated don't think? If is almost impossible to knock out a fighter if he does nothing but hold and grab and cheat to keep you from effectivly using your boxing skills.
Hopkins is highly overrated and extremely boring to watch.Maybe he will retire now and move on with his life.Hopefully his next career move will be more exciting that his boxing career.
