Joe would win, pretty easily but Pavlik could deck him at any moment. Calzaghe has a Great chin and Warriors heart. Pavlik has a good chin and Warriors heart. Calzaghe thrives on fighters that come forward, he would push Pavlik back something he isn't used too. Calzaghe wide UD, Kessler is a harder fight than Pavlik.

      Spot the Legend!!!

Think I see a very famous fighter in the crowd in that Calzaghw/Hopkins GIF.

Calzaghe didn't show me anything last night that would make me think he'd handle Pavlik easy.

Pavlik would be hunting him down Joe all night. Now I don't think Joe has a glass jaw, but he seemed to be effected a few times when BHop landed flush shots (mainly the knockdown & towards the end of the fight). Pavlik's punches would be twice as hard and right on point.

          Pavlik by stoppage or UD

Calzaghe has one of the best chins in boxing, the knockdown came from one the best punches I have ever seen. Hopkins threw all his weight behind it, and punched as hard as he possibly could, catching Joe on the button while he steamed forward. Hopkins has probably never hit anyone as perfectly as that punch landed, and Calzaghe was still up before the ref counted past 3.....

A few things you say here make me realise you haven't watched many of Joe's fights. When people come forward on to Joe, he rips them up, and badly. Hopkins fought a perfect fight, and gave himself the best chance of beating Joe than he could have ever got, but he still lost. Joe LOOKED awful last night, but if you appreciate what he has just done, you will soon realise that Pavlik would be lucky to get to the second half of the fight. It would be Calzaghe - Lacy II, the only difference being Pavlik hasn't got half the chin Lacy had and gets stopped.

Thats the second silliest thing i've seen in this thread. The first was the notion the Pavlik would win Just my opinion though

Hopkins didnt hurt him, he caught him off balance with sweet counter punches. Pavlik is a come forwrd fighter (simiar to Kessler imo), styles make fights. Hopkins had a hood style to beat Joe, Pavlik does not.

How many Hopkins fights have you seen? If I got knocked down by the first punch a 43 year old threw at me...I'd retire. Or escape back to Cricket land.

You would get knocked down the first time Bernard Hopkins hit you in a boxing match though. As would mosty probably as he is an elite fighter...

Or maybe he could beat the recognised best LHW on the planet instead?

I think I'd opt for the third one personally.

You're a tard, crawl back into whatever hole you crawled out of and kindly continue to suck Bernards ****, he enjoys a bit of "mano a mano" apparently....

I don't want this to happen b/c Joe needs to fight the contenders at LHW or SMW. But he'd have no problems with Pavlik
