    Calzaghe scared of Pavlik

Calzaghe used to be warm to the idea of a Pavlik fight...but he seemed to be favoring a fight w/ Roy Jones now

Personally i think Pavlik would honestly beat Calzaghe in what would be the most exciting fight i could imagine (both fighters throw around 100 punches a round).

Both fighters styles basically need to fight coming foward (Pavlik moreso than Joe)...and Joe's power did not look very sharp this fight...and given that Pavlik has incredible power, an incredible chin, and long reach I think Pavlik would be pushing Calzaghe back....and the second Jermain Taylor fight shows that Pavlik can hang w/ class A boxers....Joe needs to be busy to win fights and i do not think he could push Kelly back to be more busy and calzaghe throws a lot of punches leaving himself open....I personally think Pavlik by KO

On the other hand you have Roy Jones who has lost three times to Antonio Tarver (yes i said three times) and once to Glen Johnson since he came back.........a win against an inactive trinidad fighting at two weight classes higher than the unnatural middleweight division in which Hopkins completely exposed him (like Winky Wright and the first 7 rounds of De la hoya did as well) that he has a horrible chance of winning against class A boxers..... does not! deserve Calzaghe's last fight man!

Roy Jones vs. Hopkins (Lightheavy weight)
    Calzaghe vs. Pavlik (super middleweight)

    What do u guys think?

What I think of Calzaghe/Pavlik is two white underrated boxers going at it. Who will win? Who knows, both have pluses and minuses. Hopkins proved in the first round that a straight right punch is a weakness for Calzaghe and I'm sure other fighters were taken note even though its nothing new and most fighters already knew that about joe. And I think Calzaghe would beat him because Calzaghe moves way too much for Pavlik and never stays still, while Taylor fought way different then he normally does and was fighting Pavliks fight. I doubt Calzaghe would fight Pavliks fight, though Calzaghe fought Hopkins fight tonight and still beat him by points. Hopkins looked like effing crap offensively but he is mostly a great defensive fighter. But whos to say Calzaghe isn't the one who made hopkins look like crap offensively. I mean when you have a guy whos throwing 700-800 punches at you fast as hell then what else can you do then cover up?

Pavlik's style is more suited to Calzaghe who is in effect a very busy counter puncher, hence why in the Hopkins fight they cancelled each other out to a degree.

Great fight for Pavlik as he will be moving up and gatting a name, not so great for Calzaghe who will have to drain back to SMW and take a risk against a puncher at the end of his career.

I suspect it will be Roy Jones.

Pavlik, i believe wants to defend his belt at 160 which he has the right to do, its not fair that people want to see him gain 15 pounds to fight a guy that slaps a 1000 times a fight. Calzaghe, earned the right to fight for big money so if he fights Jones Jr, i dont see a problem with that. True fans know who got beat up tonight so its not like Calzaghe earned the name as the man to beat.

I dont think anyone ever said they were great, it just shows how weak Calzaghes resume is but like i said before, if you have Hopkins on your resume that pretty much makes you great, unless youre Clinton Mitchell, haha

BOTH Kessler and Pavlik would easily outpoint Pavlik. To contemplate otherwise is somewhat naive.

Kessler wouldnt last ten rounds against a top notch American.

I don't understand your statement: I can only assume you mean that Pavlik is in someway a below par American
