i think anyone in the lt heavyweight division could clean up joe easily

winning (marginally) against hopkins didnt really prove anything i see joe getting wrecked by anyone else

Jones-Calzaghe! A fight 10 years in the making. 10 Years ago Jones would have blown Calzaghe out on half of a fight. Now, Jones is a little slower and his confidence is not as high. I think that Joe has a very good chance to win it, but believe that Jones is naturally bigger and faster. Also, Jones is a WAY harder puncher than Joe & B-HOP. I seriously believe that Rjj will win this fight on a counterpunch KO or UD. Joe gets wingey with his punches and Jones will come straight up under those with faster hands and turn out the lights. The only prediction that I was incorrect about since starting posts on this site was Hatton-Mayweather and that was probably because I am a big Hatton fan. Do you agree? Or Disagree? Anyone.

I think Joe vs Roy is the right way to go. Joe is after adding to his legacy and to his bank account in his very last fights, so Jones makes a lot of sense.

After Roy, the only good names are Pavlik, Dawson and maybe Chris Byrd.

Dawson is headed to a fight with Tarver, so Joe will probably have to wait, but considering it's Dawson I'm not sure he would be willing.

Byrd has yet to fight, win and generate interest around his name to atract the attention needed for a fight with Joe. Anyway, that would take some time and Joe may not wait around.

Pavlik is one that makes a lot of sense for Joe. It's a megafight, it will sell like crazy, it will add a lot to his legacy, but it also comes with a very high risk of losing. The bad is that Pavlik seems already busy for the year and Joe would have to wait till 2009 for this fight.

With that in mind, why not fight Roy in the second semester? It's a great fight and there is no better option out there.

Yes he could, indeed. Especially if he wins in spectacular fashion.

His terrible losses would be placed on the back burner for a while.

If British boxer Joe Calzaghe somehow manages to beat the great Roy Jones Jr. then his status as an all time great could be confirmed.

He will then have Kessler, Eubank, Lacy, Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones Jr. on his resume, to add to the fact that he is one of the only unbeaten ten- year World Champions EVER.

I would like to see the fight go ahead, but I feel that Joe would lose.

Well, let's face it, Joe is not a Light-Heavyweight, just like Hatton is not a Welterweight.

              Tarver would beat him.

He was very brave to step up.

                why

why fight a guy who lost three strait not to long ago and hasn't beaten a top ten light heavyweight in four years.jones is rebuilding but not yet ready. Beating trindad puts him back in the hunt but not in the lead. There are much bigger fights out there like antonio tarver. Who just beat calzahe's country men clinton woods in one sideded fashion and owns two out of three over jones( one by second round knock out). There's chad dawson the young unbeaten gun. Fresh off his WBC tittle defense against elite light heavyweight glen johnson or a rematch with hopkins. A fight he was put down twenty seconds into and only won by split decision. If nothing huge comes about then fight clinton woods in englad. He's a legit top ten guy and it would be a huge fight across the pond. A few of these fights in a row then a jones fight can put him in postion for a pavlik fight. A nice run of wins against these guys follwed by a super fight with pavlik could make him a imortal( more then imortal in britan). If he manged a big win there as well as clearing the packed light heavyweight division. He could ask floyd mayweather how the weather was down there on the p4p list.
Which i see happing next year. All i have to say is eveyone gonna lost to this white boy.

Roy didn't have enough gas to throw an adequate # of punches against Tito. He's too old for Cal now.
