    Compubox numbers DONT SCORE FIGHTS

first of all, I didnt even have Hopkins winning. Calzaghe won a close fight with his workrate

but you guys need to wake up. there are multiple things that are misleading about Compubox numbers...
-They are simply inaccurate. People make mistakes, and it is people that are counting these punches.
-What counts as a landed punch? has compubox ever said? when you look at the compubox count, does it tell you what punches land where?
-Compubox doesnt tell you how clean a punch is or how much power was behind it
-Compubox doesnt tell the story of the fight. one guy could be running around throwing arm punches while the other guy is making him miss and not being bothered by them, and in return that other guy lands less but his more meaningful punches. Who wins the round?

I never want to hear anyone ever use compubox evidence to support that someone won a round or a fight. Learn how to judge a fight correctly by paying attention to what happens in the ring, not looking at how many punches were landed by the end of the round. Its like people dont even give any points to clean punching anymore, they just score by numbers...

Punchstat #s just give insight to what's happenin. They ain't the decidin factor of a fight since the official judges don't see em. Considering all factors like power, accuracy, and activity, there's no way the compubox stats should decide the fight. But round by round and after the fight they give you a good idea of what was goin down.

Yeah it's ridiculous to judge a fight by punches landed.

Excellent post. People that know how to watch fights don't need to depend on Compubox. Jim Lampley does.

This seemed like another case of when whoever was counting for one guy was a lot more lenient in giving credit for things that only partially landed.

I wonder if the guy who scored punches landed for Calzaghe also scored the punches landed for Mayweather when he fought De La Hoya.
