Hopkins: "I Took Joe Calzaghe To School"

I've realised something: Addison's arguments from authority (Well Kevin Iole says blah blah and BBC Wales say blah blah) don't live up to context. Kevin Iole opens saying that he scored the bout for Hopkins but it was hard to score because it was such an easy fight and could have gone either way.
This stuff about Hopkins putting on a masterclass I can't find although the BBC correspondent also scored the fight for Hopkins by a single point. It doesn't matter though. The majority are scoring this fight for Calzaghe and he won the last half of the fight by a landslide on just about everyone's card.
It's no coincidence that everyone who scored for Hopkins had it 114-113 with the KD being the difference while everyone who scored it for Calzaghe had it eight rounds to four. Depending on how you thought the fifth and sixth round went Calzaghe either won big or lost small.Comment

I suspect that most of the clowns in this forum wait patiently for HBO to post the almighty CompuBox punch "stats" before deciding who won each round. They have zero clue how to judge a fight, so they eagerly swallow the b.s. spewed by Lampley and friends and cling to the frequently bogus (and always unchallenged) punch stats. CompuBox could have reported that Calzaghe landed 1,232 punches and 95% of the goofballs in this forum would have bought it. Incidentally, HBO acknowledged a CompuBox error on their website the day after the fight. It turns out that Joe actually landed 2.32 punches (.187 of them were power punches).Last edited by NachoMan; 04-23-2008, 10:24 PM.Comment
