i like sam. he's very tough and rugged. he has good power and he fights to get ko's. everything i want from a heavyweight. he reminds me of a bigger , less skilled david tua. but unfortunately i think he's shopworn at such a young age. mccline is a big guy and a strong guy but he is no ko guy he seemed to hurt sam everytime he landed. maybe it's because sam gets caught really flush but he use to be able to handle massive flush shots to the chin. i think wladimir ruined him to be honest with you. maybe it's their style and their propensity to slug but AFRICAN heavyweights get shopworn very early imo although there's not much to draw from. izon is a prime example.
I'm with you exactly, especially about Izon. I thought everone had forgotten David Izon. I have tapes of his fights that I can't even bear to look at, he's taking horrendous punishment. I saw one dreadful massacre of Izon, and, just a couple of months later there he was again, against (I can't remember) and after being smashed all over the arena for 8 rounds, he finally ko'd the guy. And the tragic denouement was that at the end of the fight, after the interview, he pushed his poor, battered spouting bruised face into the camera, sending a message to his loved ones, repeating over and over.....
    ""I'm a contender"...."I'm a contender"....

    it was pitiful.

I think in his next fight, based on his ability to be nearly killed for 9 rounds and KO the guy in the 10th, he got another fight with some top guy, can't recall who, and was beaten all over the place and stopped, maybe in about 4.

I never saw him again, Thank G.....but I've always kept thinking "the poor guy"...........

Peter talks a lot of ****. I'd pick him to beat Haye but his arrogant, underestimatin attitude could get him knocked out. Hell McCline almost did it. If haye didn't get stopped early I think he'd have a good shot.

Sam Peter/David Tua or Peter/Haye are two fights I would pay to watch.

In spite of the McCline fight, I think Peter's chin is still pretty good, I'll be very impressed if Haye can stop him.

i think that was fres oquendo. feel bad for izon. he was suppose to fight tyson and klitschko for big bucks but the fights never went through. he ended up getting koed by fres for not much money.
go on youtube and look for the izon-tua fight when izon was in his prime. that fight was brutal.

i think don king puts him up to the things he says.

peter seemed like a humble guy when i started watching him.

him talking trash and stuff doesn't seem like him (to me anyway) and sounds more rehearsed or choreographed by don.

If Peter vs Haye ever happens in the future, Peter will knock Haye out cold....Haye has **** defense, Peter will tag Haye on the chin and he will go to sleep.
