If Roy thinks he's P4P again he needs to prove it and Johnson would be a great start. Tarver seems serious again and Dawson is the real deal....Roy doesn't derserve them simply based on his name.

Oh yeah as pertaining to this thread.....Calzaghe by easy and embarrassing UD. Roy would actually get outboxed.......
Yea, in what dream will that happen. Roy outboxed? No sir, not even by Calzaghe. Joe would be as busy as Hanshaw was , but more accurate and get peppered with hard counterpunches all night. Nobody above Jr. Welter is faster than Jones. Period.

Not sure if you caught ESPN last night or not, but Roy did say he wanted Glenn Johnson if a fight with Calzaghe didnt happen and he didnt get a chance to imbarras MMA fighter Anderson Silva. The point in fighting Calzaghe is very clear to those who understand Roy Jones Jr. He wants to fight the best fighter in or around his weight class, no matter who they may be. Tarver and Johnson will fight Roy anytime he wants because they know he brings the bee's and honey.(money) He said that he would fight Johnson again based on the public poll's results that he was the most impressive on Showtime last weekend. I personally think Tarver was, but Oh-Well. So, that being said. Roy will eventually fight Johnson, but he needs to prove he is the best and fighting JOhnson wont do that. It will just prove that he can avange a horrible KO loss. I personally think that he would beat Johnson if they fought again. By KO or stoppage. I also think that Jones, when motivated will be the only fighter capable of beating Calzaghe as well.

I don't know about Roy beating Johnson. That first ko was horrific. I thought Roy was seriously hurt ( as in hospital, coma type stuff)
Johnson is going to follow him like crazy and not give him a break.

Roy says a lot of things... We'll see what he actually does.

Didn't Roy also mention Glenn Johnson last night as a possible opponent?

Roy still has very fast hands! Who knows what any of these light heavies have left seeing as they're all between late 30s and early 40s.

Chad Dawson is the only comparative youngster and hes hardly pound for pound!

I was at the fight in Memphis that night and Roy stayed down for about 5 mins or so on his back. He everntually got up to a stool and refused to be stretchered out. He recieved no serious damage from it, but it was a bad lick. I think the way he hit the back of his head on the canvas was worse than the punch though. Roy shouls have never taken a fight 4 months after losing by a devastating KO, expecially against a guy like Johnson. But, Roy's heart made him want to get right back in the title picture and so there goes history. I think Roy's mind has healed from those KO's and he would fight Glenn Johnson in a whole different way. He would be more active and counter more effectively. And, I don't care what people say on here: Jones has KO power at LHW. He just chooses not to use it all the time. Jones will KO Johnson if they fight again. I know that for sure. That is the only way to get even. A UD is not enough in my opinion.
