Of course, Ima be rootin for the American. **** ya limey *****s. But I'm an objective poster. I think Hop may lose this one. But im actually surprised to read some of yall's post who are rooting for Hopkins. Some of you "experts" are actually sayin Hop just has to isolate Joe's workrate and he has it in the bag. Have you all actually seen Calzaghe fight? It's not just his workrate that gets him the W's, its HOW and WHERE the workrate comes from. This italian clubber lookin douchebag doesnt just stand infront and let his hands go, he comes from the right, left comes in and out. Antonio Margarito is just work rate, Librado Andrade is just workrate, Calzaghe is sporadic and unpredictable work rate. He boxes unorthodoxly though he CAN box. He CAN jab. He CAN hook and he DOES pick where he wants to flurry.

its cool to root for your guy, its cool to be passionate, but at least stop bull****ting and learn something about the opponent he is fighting. why would you go out of your way to disrespect, claim he's overrated when your favorite fighter chose to fight him? theres a REASON.

You forgot one thing, he's been doing that against stationary fighters. How much better is Hopkins than Bika, who moved some and won rounds against Cal and made him miss. Hop is the best at making a fighter fight at his pace, Im not concerned about Joe's workrate because Hopkins will either be out of range or in close, not in Joe's range where he can be effective.

        yup.
I think Hopkins interview on FNF's was dead on.
Although i think at this point hopkins doesn't quite have enough.
The hopkins of 10 years ago would have dominated JC.

The one that put Byron Mitchell on his ass looked pretty crisp, but the change in style seems to be a way of protecting his hands, maybe he might sit down on a few more punches towards the latter rounds, doing it too early could be a bad gamble seeing how had Bernard's arms and head are!!

All in all a great fight, whoever you follow

Yep. Most people don't realize what a KO machine Joe was before his numerous hand injuries. Joe has to be careful against the top fighters because he can't get away with fighting them with a broken hand the entire fight like he has with some of his past opponents. Joe will start to sit on punches against Hopkins late if he's well ahead, since he wants to be the first person to KO him.

                  True.

Many posters seem to think Calzaghe will fight Hopkins like Jirov fought Toney (just standing in front of him throwing non-stop punches leaving himself wide open to be countered), when nothing can be further from the truth.

These ppl who hate on Calzaghe would still hate on Calzaghe if Calzaghe gave Hopkins a one-sided beat down then they would just make excuses instead of give calzaghe any credit. Joe has to paint his skin color to be accepted for the great boxer he is... The world will never change, everyone judges each other on skin tone.
