You cant "expose" a fighter like Joe Calzaghe or Bernard Hopkins, both are proven great fighters.

Regarding Roy, he never had the run at 168 Calzaghe did and choose not to fight the other dangrous guys at the weight (Toney being the exception), he wont be considered as the best 168 fighter, not even close.

You can expose them in the minds of the fickle public who dump a loser very quickly , many say Joe hasnt really fought anyone , basicly Eubanks (faded at the time ) and Kessler I dont even count Lacy as being elite , Kessler would KO Lacy , if Hopkins beats Joe at 43 you wait and see whats said afterwards .

It doesnt really matter if Roy had only one fight at the weight he still fought at 168 and prime Jones best JoeC clearly , if when you say Joe was the best ever at 168 you mean accomplished I agree but best fighter Roy Jones jnr .

maybe you do but im not going off of "guarantees" by fighters who can predict whether they will win the bout or lose.

I think as far as skill goes there isnt too much of a difference between hopkins and calzaghe but i think the biggest factor in this fight will be age...

calzaghe will be less likely to tire and fade towards the late rounds.

To be honest i think that will be the biggest difference overall...other than age difference i think they are pretty evenly matched overall...

Joe Calzaghe isnt a blown up winky wright and joe calzaghe doesnt pound down boxes and boxes of krsipy kreme doughnuts while training for a fight so i dont want to hear about hopkins v. wright as a guide to how this fight will play out.

besides its not like hopkins looked exactly stellar against wright anyway.

LOL yeah that too , depends how he lost really but I think a loss to BHop at 43 will hurt his legacy greatly ,,,, HOF is pretty easy to get into these days they are guarenteed a spot already , but the realm we are talking about is above names listed in the HOF alongside a looong list of noted fighters .

And by the same token, if Hopkins loses, it won't matter because he was over the hill anyway? If Joe loses he is a bum for losing to a 43 year old? If Joe wins he doesn't get any credit because B-Hop is 43?

...so the only fighter who can come out of this fight with any credit, win or lose is B-Hop?

                Interesting....

The best fight in the US thats the difference, its a proven fact. Joe could beat all the bums he wants in Europe but to prove himself he must fight over here and thats why he made the trip, but just like Ricky Hatton found out, its a whole different ball game.
So you don't think that it has anything to do with Hatton fighting the best boxer on the planet? You think he would have come similarly unstuck against Demetrius Hopkins?

Give the man a prize ,, Ive said this all along , its a no win fight for Joe , if he wins big Bhops past it and if Bhop wins a 43yr old beat him , Bhop is in the box seat in this no matter what happens , I honestly thought it was not the fight for Cal the day it was announced , its a sad set of circumstances for JC I lnow but thats the way I see it getting digested when the dust settles , especially on this board with the hate that thrives in here towards certain fighters .

I think Hopkins will win because he has been in prison.
