    The worst kind of robbery...

Let me first say that all robberies suck... they really do, BUT...

    Some are worse than others.

I can at least understand why they would rob someone like Felix Sturm against Oscar De La Hoya. If Sturm won, that means that the Hopkins fight would be off, and a ton of money would be lost for everyone.

I can understand why they robbed Santa Cruz against Casamayor. After all, who the **** is Santa Cruz before that fight?

I can understand why they would rob a bum against someone like Juan Diaz in Diaz's early career.

What I CAN'T understand is why they would rob Emanuel Augustus against a guy like Courtney Burton. The dude was not even a solid prospect. 20-2 is not a really glamorous record for anyone hoping to be a really good fighter. And look what happened to Burton in the bouts after that. He got KO'd like 4 times in a row.

Is there any upside for anyone in robbing Augustus in a bout like that?

The reason Augustus was robbed in that fight was a case of the classic "hometown robbery". Courtney is from Michigan where the fight took place.

That makes sense, but it's not like it really helped Burton out.

A robbery should at least progress the career of the winning fighter.

That fight was absolutely de****able. Honestly, if I ever saw one of those judges in person I would not be able to contain myself, I would simply beat them to death.

Augustus swept nearly every round of that fight. Amazingly one judge found a way to give EVERY ROUND TO BURTON!

It was right after he changed his name from Burton though, so maybe the judges were confused?

            * WBO Light Middleweight title (Jackson's 2nd defense)

Martin Camara had been down 5 times but in the 11th caught Jackson and had him out for a 10 count. He was declared the winner by KO but an hour later the referee bizarrely said the round had alreayd ended. Later, the WBO then called it a no-contest in perhaps one of the biggest robberies in boxing history.

That fight puts a lot of these recent close fights in perspective, the ones where people scream robbery. Makes the people who claim that Marquez/Vazquez or Marquez/Pacquiao or Dawson/Johnson were robberies look silly.

That was one of the very worst decisions I have ever seen in 15+ years of watching boxing. Augustus slapped him around and got jobbed.

This sounds far worse than anything I have ever seen or heard of.

                Wow... just wow. Poor guy.

The worst robbery I have ever seen is Juan Coggi-Eder Gonzalez I.

This is worse than all the bad decision robberies like Alfredo Escalera-Tyrone Everett because Gonzalez in actuality had won that fight like 3 times via stoppage or DQ.

                  It was simply de****able.

Ben-Rabah vs Urango...Now that decision disgusts me to this day... Ben-Rabah( I know I spelled it wrong) fought his heart out. He was countering Urango all night. HE showed good ring gernalship and was beating Urango to the punch. That was a sin on how the judges did Ben Rabah. He won that fight despite the judges scorecards.
