And I had Vargas taking over from 3-5 but after that Trinidad pretty much began to dominate (after low blows, ouch 'Nando felt them)
Yeah, your right it was twenty I was thinking of the Yori Boy fight, I think that fight took a lot out of Vargas' career. Tito's cheating ended Reid's career early. he was neber the same after that fight. And Vargas want either, but to a lesser extent.

Mosley was undefeated when Forrest beat him the first time.

Mosley had no business fighting at 154.

Johnson all the way. He was an underrated underdog in 3 175 lb title matches and won all 3. **** Tarver's lucky punch in the Jones rematch. Glen beat Roy down thoroughly and knocked his ass out. ****** to watch Roy get taken out again but Glen gets more credit for his win over RJ than Tarver imo. Then of course he beat Tarver which put a smile on my face and put the icing on the cake for a big '04 from the Road Warrior.

            Exactly.

Also, Shane was P4P #1 when Forrest beat him.

Finally, Winky didn't get fighter of the year in 2004 when he beat Mosley twice. Trinidad was in 2005 by the way.

This just a poll of fighters who won The Ring's Fighter of the Year away since the year 2000.

Not really a consideration in the thread, but at least an interesting side topic... did you think Johnson should have gotten the nod against Tarver in their first fight? I thought Tarver actually won that fight pretty handily.

I really don't think Shane had taken over Roy as p4p1 with that win over Oscar, to be honest. I can't remember if he took over the prime spot in Ring's ratings? but either way he was riding pretty high in all knowledgable pundits lists.
