Who has Bernard beat that Joe wouldn't beat?

Is there anyone? Didn't think so.

Also, how about asking that question the other way around, is there anyone on Joe's record that Bernard wouldn't beat? Maybe... a prime Robin Reid would have been a good fight, I imagine Sakio Bika's unorthodox style and raw power would give an oldman Hopkins plenty of trouble, and also I think Mikkel Kessler would KO Hopkins. I don't think Hopkins has the power to keep Jeff Lacy off him like Joe did either.

    Thoughts?

I shudder to think how quickly a prime Calzaghe would have destroyed DLH.

Nobody to answer the question. But styles make fights and sizin up a fight based on the fighters' successes against their past comp doesn't mean a whole lot, even when they've faced the same guys.

How do you figure this is an excuse thread?

Looks more like a "prime Calzaghe would have beat any version of Hopkins" type of thread.

Calzaghe never left home to come fight these people, so we'll never know. You can't defend the guy's weak resume by assuming he would have beat certain fighters if he had actually fought them. Hopkins has beat better fighters then the one's you named, Bika was on the contender (enough said), Kessler is not American (every brit. champions weakness), and Jeff Lacy was still wet behind the ears (only little more then a prospect).

Calzaghe beats everyone Hopkins fought, I think Hopkins in his prime beats all of Calzaghe's opponents too.

Prime Hopkins vs Kessler and Prime Hopkins vs Prime Eubank would be great fights though...
