Yea it is koo to gain experience to the pro game being young. But this is an INDIVIDUAL man sport, the only way to get better is to challenge the guys who are "better" than you, although you may be young.
it sounds like you guys have little or no clue what boxing is all about. jr had no amature career, that means he has to go slow. an amature career is somewhere along the lines of 150-250 fights, right now jr is at 34 fights total. and you guys want him to go out and fight for a title? that's ******ed, look what happened to fernando vargas, he was forced to retire before he was 30. jr is doing real good considering he has no amature career. don't get mad at the boy cause he's on ppv, get mad at dumbass bob arum. jr should'nt even be thinking title for a good 5 years.

Ok. you are right on the ameuter career thing. But who's fault is that, since he didn't have an ameuter background? He has fought on numerous cards, and the question was is he was as good as advertised? He is fighting for Arum isn't he? He should be getting some good experience to where he should be moving up to BETTER competiton, no? Which would possibly lead to a title fight.

You used Vargas, but he had an EXTENSIVE am. career. I actually seen him fight when he was in the ams here in St.Louis. He was good. He just came up during a time when he had to fight ANIMALS, and he was not on the same level as those ANIMALS...Prime Tito & Oscar would be problems for ANY young fighter, they were SURE ENUFF PROBLEMS FOR VARGAS. Even if he was more experinced, I don't think he would have beaten those two.....HOWEVER, in the 154 pound division, are there any animals like prime Tito and Oscar now for JCC Jr?????? I think NOT.

The kid can fight, but he needs to be matched carefully still. A polished fighter with good handspeed would probably take him apart right now.

If he could keep his weight down and make Welter he could do some so good, because he's a lanky kinda guy.

Berto is much more advanced than JCC Jr at this stage.

He is over 6'0 tall now and has a lot of trouble making 154.
