It was actually a closer fight than what has been said, John had a case for winning, some writers had John winning as well.

I gave John 2 rounds (not including the point deductions Marquez got.) I gave him one round just because of a great punch he landed. It was a real hard fight to watch because John backed up and ran the whole fight.

It was a counter punching fight, both of them were waiting for the other to do something, made for a less then exciting fight but John had a case for winning IMO, especially with the point deductions.

Marquez couldn't throw body shots in the later rounds for fear of being DQed.

Man, did you even watch this fight????? It amazes me how some people actually believe John did enough to win. That fight was one of the biggest robbery's I have ever seen;****, they had ****en John's hand raised before the decision was even announced for crying out loud.

I watched it, I didn't say I thought John won, I said I thought he had a case for winning, especially with the points deducted from JMM.

It was Marquez' fault for not killing him.

Top Rank offered Marquez $1.5 million to face Erik Morales in the main event on an HBO pay-per-view that was scheduled to take place in the Fall of 2006. Again Marquez rejected the offer, requesting an unrealistic $3.5 million, a figure that according to Top Rank, was an amount that even the more marketable Erik Morales had never been guaranteed in his entire career

Morales would of taken a one sided beating if he fought Marquez.

                      money wasn't good?

hbo offered a purse of $1.5 million. $750 thousand for juan manuel but he turned it down. $750 thousand is a lot of money for the lower weight classes.
