when the real mandatory commands the money that the current champ gets. its all about the dollars son! its a sport, like all sports there is money matters to be tended to.

Seriously. I feel like Mayweather is the only fighter the WBC gives a pass to in regards to making a mandatory title defense, at least against an actual Welterweight.

of course the wbc gets a piece of the cake for every mandatory floyd makes
so if they strip him they lose potential money

PBF's mandatory last I heard was Andre Berto. That is a fight that doesn't need to be made. Berto is the mandatory who is not even trying to exercise his mandatory status. So what does that tell you? To me it says that Berto knows that he is not ready for PBF and doesn't want that fight. So actually PBF doesn't have a mandatory.

I think for all the information we get as fans we really don't get **** for real. I remember a person from Hatton's camp saying they were in negotiations for the PBF fight for 3 years. While we fans were sitting here arguing about that fight not coming off and **** like that the whole time they been knew that **** was going to happen. It is quite possible that is the same situation we have right now with PBF vs. Cotto.

Has anyone taken a look at the WBC's rules? Tell me this aint a bit rediculous!

A consensus top 10 contender; 2.) A champion or top 10 contender OF ANOTHER WEIGHT CLASS (higher or lower) with a majority vote of Board of Governors (I call this one the Dela Hoya/Hatton 'exception' rule because it has given Floyd the position to legitimately fight these guys without entertaining true welters and still retain his strap); 3.) A former or retired world champion with a majority vote of Board of Governors; 4.) Another boxing organizations champion if recognized by the WBC, upon majority vote of Board of Governors. Now, there are other rules in the mix, but the few just listed lay the blueprint to why a fighter can go so long without feeling the pinch of his organization forcing him to defend against top tier fighters in his own division.

People are still talking about Floyd? I thought he was a wrestler now. With Cotto vs. Margarito already made Floyd fell out of the picture, this is just meant to keep him in the spot light, the only place he seems to be not insecure.
