no sports player ever has played thier sport better pissed...cept reggie miller in madison square gardenMaybe he's letting it piss him off, maybe he fights better pissed. Hatton laughed off Mayweather's antics and that got him nowhere. Or maybe he's just scared. Hopkins has said a lot of **** to piss him off, which is Hopkins' usual gameplan. Get you pissed before the fight, get you in the ring, and frustrate you until you fight with your emotions rather than your head.
Bernard is the ****ing man. I'm going to miss this dude like no other.Comment

Dude I couldn't disagree more. How did Hatton get bothered by Floyd during press conferences? He caned it every time, with Brits shouting out, bantering with Floyd, all of it. Check the weigh in, Ricky was calm but the aggressor. Even Floyd said, he has the heart of a lion and great fans. In the fight, Ricky's fighting style was influenced, because he just kept moving forwards looking for a big punch. That isn;'t normal for him at all. Though brave, it was mindless, had no subtlety or good assessment of what was and wasn't working, and it got him knocked out.Hatton was only bothered by Mayweather during the press conferences, he didn't let it interfere with the actual fight at all. Hatton looked calm during the fight and was in his normal game. Its just than none can keep up that pace for 12 rounds without getting tired.
I also think that Calzaghe is getting nervous and he should be. He is fighting outside of the Uk for the fight time, hes fighting his best opponent at a weight thats hes never been before, his friend and stable mate was knocked the hell out(Enzo (Marcrinelli) and he will not have all of the crowd behind him. Hopkins is going to take him to a place that hes never been before and i wouldn't be surprised if Bernard actually pulled this out.
Calz is noway nervous, what on earth suggests this? Interesting you think both Ricky and Joe were, mate, these guys have serious ****ing hearts and it takes far far more the phase them. Hatton and Woods didn't fight they're fights on fight night ok, but even that won't happen with Joe. Nothings suggested he's been more than 5% rustled for more than a few seconds. 95% during the build up, like Woods and Hatton, he's been calm and in control.
He's fought in England where is was a foreigner, and received more hostility then he'd ever get in the US due to Welsh/English rivalries. He was spat at, booed, all sorts. And that's within Britain, surely that'd hurt him more? The US aren't going to be so bad, which is credit to the states actually.
Joe has demonstrated also, if you watch his fights, he trains like a challenger, rises to a bigger challenge, and fights better when he's necks on the line, has a good opponent, big task, and an opportunity to really prove himself. So it's not negatively effecting him, quite the contrary, all of it helps motivate him to rise to the challenge and fight his best.Last edited by Kris Silver; 04-17-2008, 07:19 AM.Comment

At a press conference yesterday to help hype Joe Calzaghe vs Bernard Hopkins, Calzaghe took no time in ripping apart Hopkins. Calzaghe held back nothing, using curse words to trash Hopkins. Calzaghe descibed Hopkins as being a phoney and that his intentions are to send Hopkins into retirement on Saturday evening when the two face off on HBO.
At the conference, Calzaghe dissed Hopkins, stating: “All this s*** about being the Executioner and
wearing that ****** hat and telling everyone he’s a legend, what the f*** is that?”
Calzaghe blasted Hopkins further, adding: “You are a f****** phoney mate, a phoney, a f****** phoney, let’s have it right. This will be his last fight.”
For more on this and other
........The executioner has ALREADY WON

Ive seen the confrence he looked calm as can be he reacted to the baiting.
American people swear when they really want to convay a strong opinion, Brits swear all the time in every day sentances.
Joe looks fine he was more up for it against Kessler did you see the weigh in the pushing of foreheads?
But i will admit as the fight nears i am getting edgey and hope Calzaghe has his running boots on and sparred to force the pace and not get left open.Comment
