The British fans have like 4 good fighters at any given time and back them completely whereas we have people here who HATE Mayweather, Roy, Hopkins, whoever was on top at the time. You would never seen Brits booing Calzaghe because he's their only guy. You would never seen Puerto Ricans booing Cotto because he's their only guy.

Good post and very true. I think the Brits/Euros don't understand this because they don't understand our insanely sports obsessed culture and don't follow our most popular sports, which are American born. There was a poll on ESPN on favorite sports in America, boxing was 11. America is the home of the athlete, check the medal counts for the Olympics, which a lot of Americans don't give a **** about either.

I was being mostly sarcastic and I like the UK. I just think its funny how defensive most UK posters get about their boxers. It's like you've slapped their mother. Most of my ancestors are english/scotch, according to my late grandfather atleast.

Alright Amir, I can see how you might misinterpret sarcasm. I sometimes don't get English dry humor.

You think the UK guys are too defensive? Yet USA is still crying about having the national anthem booed?

I bet a much higher percentage of the UK public knew about this story than the American public. It was classless. I'm way over it. And I in no way think it represented the general Brit public. Every country has their hooligan/obnoxious sports fans(I hate boston in particular). From what I hear though your soccer fans/Hatton fans truly take the cake. Especially the soccer fans, who have a worldwide reputation as being a bunch of brawling, steaming drunks.

"Your soccer fans"? I'm not British, and I cannot stand soccer/football or it's fans. Yes, not too many of them are evolved as humans.

I wasn't implying your nationality, just an opinion based on all the brawls/fights/even deaths that occur at these matches. I think soccer fans are overall insane. I remember the 1994? World Cup when a couple of Colombian players were murdered shortly after the loss to the US.

The Romans may trump you in that regard. But you guys did colonize many peoples and took plenty of land over a long time period. And without you guys I'm not typing and enjoying modern amenities. RESPECT! VERY NICE!

Hmmm we topped the Olympic medals table, but if you divide population size by the amount of medals won...Australia are way above everybody else! I think we have a great schools system, etc, but I went to Australia last year and theres is honestly a notch above. Mind you they do spend their whole lives outside.
