They need to work this **** out and make the fight happen. Quintana's win wasn't a fluke, but Williams wasn't completely destroyed by him either. Carlos should make bigger bank for this fight and if he don't that sucks, but he doesn't have any other big fight options yet, at least not until we hear what the Mosley-Judah winner is gonna do next.
Quintana-Williams Heading To a Purse Bid?

Paul Williams got paid $900,00 for the first fight, no reason why Quintana can't get paid that much now that he is champion. Put yourself in Quintanas shoes.Comment

He won't get $900,000, but he can reasonably ask for $550,000, which would be almost parity with Williams, assuming the same money from the first fight.Comment

Well, you have to understand that he is also being paid less than half of what Williams got paid the first time. So, him being the champion and with possibly more people interested in the rematch than in the original fight, he should at the very least ask the same amount that the champion was paid in the last fight.
Don't be a chump Quintana. Ask for the same amount of money... and don't waste it in the flashy lifestyle. You won't be able to box forever.Comment

Quintana on Williams and the fight purse
"I am not asking for much, but at least give me more than just the minimum. If I were to fight a lesser opponent, the money would be ok, but a fight against Paul Williams is worth more than that. Even if I'm the only one who has defeated him, he is still a great fighter. It's a tough fight."
On the possibility that he could end up winning less than what he's being offered now (very interesting):
"That could happen, but that way Williams would get much less than what I would get, since the champion get's 80% from the fight purse. Williams is being offered around 200,000 dollars more than what I am being offered, and I don't think it's fair that he should win more than me on a rematch, after being defeated by me."
So what he is basically saying is that he's ok with winning less money on the fight, as long as justice is served and Williams gets less money than him.
That's Charles Bronson-esque.

Quintana's got a right to demand big bucks but he better not price himself out. If takin a purse that ain't huge is necessary to make this fight he better do it cuz as I've said before he don't have any options as lucrative as this right now.Comment
