I don't know about that - for two reasons:

    1. Showtime would have no problem playing up the "controversial decision" side in promoting the fight, and have plenty of fight footage to edit the fight to make it look "spectacular" as Johnson really rocked Dawson on more than a couple occasions, and Dawson did hit Johnson with "one" good shot that would have put some fighters on the canvas.

    2. Styles do indeed make for great fights, and with a Tarver vs Dawson matchup, both fighters like to dance around and throw "pot shots" from outside, this fight would have lots of footwork, but not anywhere near as much "in your face" action as a fight that involves a Glenn Johnson.

As for me personaly - I can't stand watching a "jabfest matchup" - I would rather take a nap ...

I was routing for Chad Dawson, but I had Johnson winning, so did everyone I know.

Nice to see you are still around as well, I've been gone awhile from the boards, but I will try to spend more time posting. Cheers my friend...

I agree that Johnson should've gotten the decision
I can understand Johnson's frustrations and sympathize with him cause he rarely gets decisions

But this wasn't a robbery, anything wider than 116-112 and you scream all day and night "ROBBERY!!!!"

But come on, after Casamayor-Santa Cruz type decisions, in a fight that could've went both ways...Johnson's just gotta keep moving forward, hell he might get the winner of Tarver/Dawson, and probably will, so keep ya head up Roadwarrior

I had Johnson up 7 to 5 and a couple of his rounds coulda been 10-8. He got ****ed over. Dawson owes him a 2nd fight.

I'm guessing you had money on Johnson...
I had money on a 4 fight parlay - Margarito, Cotto, Tarver and Johnson. Basically I was betting Johnson (because I was sure of the other three) at 9-1 as opposed to takig him straight up at 2.8-1. I thought at WORST Johnson should have gotten the draw...but he's on the way out, and kinda serves as the industry's door mat...

Promoter X: "Hey, we need to put our guy in with someone we can completely ****ing shaft if he appears to lose a closer one than expected. You have any ideas?"

HBO, SHO, or SKY: "What happened, Glenn Johnson is not around anymore?"

Promotor X: "Oh ****. That's right. Ole Glenn the Go-To. No Vaseline necessary. I always forget about him."

Glenn prob should have tried to bank one more middle round to seal it, but still , 8-4 was ****ing ridiculous. I thought Gentleman Glenn caught/blocked a lot of Dawson's punches with his gloves, but they're looking to make some money off of Chad, so guys like Glenn are going to get ****ed.
