Roy Jones says Bernard is not a big puncher, he reckons his damage is done via an accumulation. Calzaghe also has a higher KO percentage.

Can you explain why Hopkins has ONE stoppage in his last EIGHT fights (against a former 130 lb title holder?) Since he's a "much better puncher" and "hits so much harder?"

Bernard barely touched Roy! So Roy isnt the one to ask 'bout B-Hop's punchin power! Ask Trinidad, Mercado, Lipsey, DLH, Wright, Tarver or Glen Johnson! Roy went 12 rounds with an unpolished Bernard Hopkins!

And Bernard went 12 with a green Roy, which is probably a good thing for Bernard.

Regardless, I respect Roy's opinion on Bernard Hopkins. Being a particularly good boxer, he knows his **** technically, so I'll take his word over some random guy on a forum, and I mean this with absolutely no disrespect to you.

If you remember, Bernard was MUCH more of a puncher back then.

His ONE stoppage in his last EIGHT fights shows how his game has changed (though granted his opposition has gotten better as well.)

okay...good point, but compare Bernard's last 8 to Joe's last 8 and see how their accomplishments compare...

and B-Hop doesn't throw 1000 punches to overwhelm you with his activity...I can imagine if he ever were to sit on and throw those 6 inch short range punches 1000 times..

I just did and there is no comparison when you look at the opposition.

Joe knocked out a couple of tomato cans in his last 8 fights but hasn't stopped any top level fighter just as Hopkins hasn't recently.

He don't go out of his way to be exciting but real fight fans will still watch Bernard just cuz they respect his ****. The smack talkin he's done has also got Joe C's fans riled up so Hopkins is doin a good job sellin the fight.

Exactly. Pure punching power is hardly a factor in the equation for either fighter these days. Arguing over who hits harder between them is like two bald guys fighting over a comb.
