this could be his way of doing it.

I was surprised to see that ****yness too...i really didnt think he was going to do that; and to be honest it was kind of interesting to watch.
First off I am a huge Cotto fan but I didn't really care for the whole ****y ****, I mean exactly it was Alfonso Gomez (who ain't horrible but it wasn't Marg or PBF or any other top WW) he should have showed a little more class in beating him I thought. I mean if it was a one time thing just to try and get more fans or people to think he is flashy or appealing by doing this ****, I'll give him a pass but if he continues to do this and starts acting ANYTHING like Mayweather then I will be forced to find a new favorite boxer!!!!! I used to like Floyd before he turned into who he has been for the last 5--7 years and I don't want Cotto to follow in those footsteps!!!! I like how he handles his business and is himself and I think that would be his best look for the future!!!!

i rather the fighters i follow show their arrogance in the ring than outside of it. simple as that.

i dont think you have to worry about that...

        cotto's personality doesnt match floyd's...

(and before anyone says anything floyd went by the nickname "pretty boy" that should have been a fair warning...haha)

he didnt downtalk gomez in the pressers or anything (that i seen/read) so i think he's still a good guy but sometimes it doesnt hurt to show a little mayorga/roy jones in the ring...

it makes it fun in my opinion.

i liked it during the end of the first round he had gomez hurt but instead of rushing in to attack he stood back and allowed him to recover and glarred (sp??) at him as he walked to his corner as if to say, "come on son"...haha

now if he starts downtalking opponents and saying he's an ATG and he could beat ray robinson or better than some of the greats then thats a different story...or starts only taking fights worth big money and doesnt care about the fans at all...then he's mayweather.

I agree, I liked the cofidence and the ****iness it gave him a certain flair. Kind of reminded me of Roy Jones.

            i agree...

thats who he reminded me of...roy jones...when i was watching the fight i couldnt put my finger on it but since you mentioned it he did remind me of roy jones...

it could be a great couple of years for cotto if he keeps winning.

Well, he did say that he got a lot more confidence after beating Mosley. You gotta keep in mind though, he was fighting Gomez. I'm not saying he underestimated him, but he was fighting like he knew he was on another level, which he was.

Cotto did good but the act is some ***** ****, fighters dont be posin in the ring just fight. Look at Tony, I still cant get the image of him waving Cintron to beat the count out of my mind. That is what will get fans. Not corny poses against a tomato can. (all said with respect to the man Cotto. )

do u think this new attitude will benefit fit him in the future or will he set himself up for trouble??
granted he displayed this kind of behavior fighting an average fighter
Cotto denies that he was fooling around. He said he's "always serious/professional" at the post fight press conference. He's been doing the tough guy routine for years, BTW. He's a real badass.

The timing of the 'I'm the baddest man alive' antics does seem questionable.
