Johnson has fought better opposition.

It would be a fun fight to watch if they ever got in the ring. I think obviously Joe would out point Glen, but he wouldn't hurt him (one of the best chins ever, imo) and Johnson would constantly put pressure on him. One of those match ups that would surely be entertaining for the fans.

Eh, I thought Glen Johnson won all three fights against Clinton Woods.
But that's debatable.

Glen Johnson has fought all top fighters with mixed success (would have fought Calzaghe as well), with better luck he could have wins over RJJ, Tarver, Woods, Ottke, Dawson and not have as many losses (if he got the all the close decisions go his way).

That would make him a HOFer for sure. I think he could still be, there are many guys in the HOF who have won some and lost some. Fritzie Zivic for example has over 60 losses (more than most today's boxers have fights!) but he also has many wins over great fighters.

I accidently voted Calzaghe. I jumped the gun and thought the question would be "who had the better resume?". Obviously Johnson has fought more high class opposition.

Calzaghe has fought and significantly beat ALL of his opponents (maybe with the exception of Robin Reid which was close I admit)

Glen Johnson always has ****ty close fights where everyone moans he got a bad decision.


If he is sooo ****ing good he would beat them so that the viewers can easily see.

I don't think you understand the poll question. The thread starter has asked who has fought better opponents, not who is better or who has a better resume. Again, the question is about the quality of opponents each man has faced.

I think it's pretty clear Johnson has fought better opponents than Calzaghe. Again, this isn't taking anything away from Joe or saying Johnson is better than Cal etc.

Knocking out RJJ and beating Tarver plus wins over Woods and many other top fighters is actually probably better than most of Joe's wins. This is the problem i find on here I have watched lots off Johnson fights and know how good he is this is just a comment made by someone who looked his record up on boxrec. Sheika lost to Johnson but got a gift as did Ottke.
