Did Calzaghe avoid Glen Johnson...

Most recently Joe was to fight Glen Johnson instead of Peter Manfredo.
All that needed to happen was for Joe to beat Bika, and Johnson to beat Woods for the third fight.
Joe was in attendance at Woods-Johnson 3 and looked fairly gutted with how it turned out.Comment

Funny. Reports I've heard always say Jones never wanted anything to do with Calzaghe and snubbed every offer to fight him. Now it's a different story and the tables have turned, and Jones wants to fight Joe. If I was Joe I'd tell Jones to take a hike.Comment

I wish i could believe that, but i don't. Proof would be nice.
Awaits a response with the name ''Frank Warren'' being mentioned, don't bother.Comment

yep yep.
Joe doesn't duck.
Johnson is only example you can find of something close to a ducking. Johnson is unlucky though he got jobbed again surprise surprise against Woods.
Anyway is Glen/Joe result in doubt.Comment

Works both ways mate. Proof that Jones didn't snub all offers would be nice. I'm pretty sure I've seen Calzaghe interviews where he said it, not only Warren. I'll try and dig something out.Comment

That's what's wrong here.... We don't know. Calzaghe may have been (I, in fact believe he was) a great fighter... but, he never went out and proved it... that's my point, and has always been my point.
I'm not hating on Calzaghe's skills. There's nothing about him that would lead me to believe he wasn't a great fighter. I think he'll probably win on Saturday, I just think that we have been robbed of alot of great fights and "treated" to the likes of Bika's, Manfredo's and a long list of other chumps... sort of like you're seeing now with Pavlik.
Why can't anything be discussed here rationally?Comment
