actually its not a duplicate thread dumb ass. But i brought up the same point. By your post and conception of the jab you obviously have never been a fighter before. Another reason why your post is **** is because the only reason margarito lost that fight is because he started late. Did you even watch the fight? did you see williams face? williams was almost knocked down holding on a few times down the stretch. That jab had nothing to do with margarito lossing him starting slow is why he lost. Cotto is a brawler he is not a boxer you obviously dont know that! because he was able to do what he wants with a ****en reality show contestant makes you think he's a superior boxer lol. If you think somone will win a fight by jabbing all night then you need to start watching a new sport cause you have no idea what the **** your talking about. cotto jab all night? lol cotto is a pressure fighter with great body work that is what has made him miguel cotto. No, Cotto pretty much out boxed Sugar Shane and Zab Judah. That effectively makes him a better boxer than Margarito. Also: I think he is a way stronger puncher. Everytime he hit Gomez, there was a thud heard by the cameras and everyone up to the 30th row. By the way, the jab is a major part of setting an opponent up for the bigger punches and when used correctly can most certainly change the course of a fight. Ask M. Ali or Lennox Lewis.

I'm reading that Margarito fans think that Cotto outboxing Margarito is a shameful act but in reality it really depicts the strength of Margarito. I will say that I was impressed how Margarito took the shots from Cintron and ran through them without being fazed. Cintron in my opinion is a stronger puncher than Cotto so I think Cotto will elect to take Margarito to deeper waters by using his abilities to box and counter as well as dictate the fight in his own means. This is a brilliant fight that neither the Margarito fans or Cotto fans should be ashamed of. Hell this fight is probably one of the best matches in the welterweight division. Both the winner and the loser will receive accolades from the fans and lets be honest both stocks will rise. 2008 is shaping to be a hell of a year already. I love the momentum that boxing has right now.

The only way Cotto can win this fight is by boxing! Slugging is going to get him KTFO! The problem is that people think Cotto is the new Sugar Ray... I heard a few people comparing this to Corralles - Floyd & Quintana - Williams, Like Miguel is going to put on a masterpiece/ boxing clinic! I'm sorry, I don't see it happening like that...

Albeit Cotto is quicker & more skilled than Margarito, are Cotto's boxing skills that good to the point where he can tame the tornado for 12 rds? Can he really stay disclipline & not get drawn into a "war"? at 140 Cotto had a war with Torress that almost left Miguel with his 1st loss! He was rocked numerous times, but held on to come back & stop Ricardo. Margarito is much bigger with a better chin & I know that was a while ago but I think slick fleet-footed boxers & pressure fighters give Cotto big problems...

This fight can truly go anyway... people always talk about Cotto's "suspect" chin, but has Margarito's long body been tested? Can it hold up in the later rounds from Cottos' punishing attacks? Who knows? I'm leaning towards Marg with a late rd (11) stoppage, after suffering a nasty cut & being behind on the scorecards

I think cotto will need to box in order to stay away from margs power but he will need to take risks to get in inflict some damage of his own. They should put another good welter weight fight on the under card anyone know who Andre Berto is fighting next?
