Margarito: "Me and Miguel Cotto Will Be a War"

How many fights of Cotto have you seen? I don't think anybody on this forum who would label Cotto as a brawler. Someone like Katsidis is a brawler, not Cotto.

and if this helps i seen cotto and mayweather fight on the same card here in fresno a few years back.

Cotto has tried to box more the last few fights. And you know it's because of his chin. They are trying to minimize the exchanges. But before the last couple of fights cotto was and still is a pressure fighter that ****s the body. None of these guys have been able to force cotto fight. I've seen alot of cotto fights. I watch almost every fight on tv from hbo, show, versus, espn, to telefutura. Cotto came up as a brawler pressure with questionable chin and defense. They have tried to make him more of a boxer to cover up the chin/defense but margarito is going to get to him regardless.

Well you need to go download some early Cotto fights to refresh your memory.

On my hard drive right now I have Cotto vs. Abdullaev(Olympics), Vince Phillips(sparring), Juuko, Ceballos, Pinto, Quintana, Malignaggi, Torres, Mosley, Judah, Gomez. I've yet to see evidence of this brawler turned boxer.
Feel free to fill me in on the part of his career where he was a brawler, and I'll be sure to get those fights.

I'm not trying to be an ass, I haven't seen everyone of his fights. If you can name some fights earlier in his career where he was considered a brawler, I'll try my best to hunt them down so I can view them.

I'm not so sure it's going to be a war. I see Cotto picking his shots, darting in and out, using his speed and movement. Cotto might get hurt once or twice, but ultimately pull out a UD. A performance somewhere between Mayweather/Corrales-Quintana/Williams. Then again wtf do I know.

Margarito is right that this is going to be a war. It's going to be like the first gulf war with Cotto being the US and Margarito Iraq. Cotto is going to pick Margarito apart he's going to box, use the jab to destroy his face and destroy his body with those nasty hooks. Margarito will come foward all night until the punishment is just too much and then Cotto will pounce on him.

You can't talk all you want about Margaritos's workrate, his chin and his heart, but in the end it won't matter. Cotto's going to disrupt his workrate, test his chin and challenge his heart.
