The smart team wins and i lean a little bit on cottos. I seldom see cotto dances around but when he does, it seems hes winning it. imo avoiding war w/ margarito will be a risky move for him because margarito will come 2u all night throwing bombs and cotto moves slow thats why he cant afford not 2 exchange bombs w/ him otherwise he'll loose by decission. so I expect nothing but blood n' war. hopefully everythings will be olright after the fight

When Cintron was boxing he was looking good, but decided to stay inside once he landed the right hand. He got so confident that he was going to KO Tony and then look what happened.


The new improved Cintron was never there last night, he was one dimensional. Relying only on the right hand.

actually its not a duplicate thread dumb ass. But i brought up the same point. By your post and conception of the jab you obviously have never been a fighter before. Another reason why your post is **** is because the only reason margarito lost that fight is because he started late. Did you even watch the fight? did you see williams face? williams was almost knocked down holding on a few times down the stretch. That jab had nothing to do with margarito lossing him starting slow is why he lost. Cotto is a brawler he is not a boxer you obviously dont know that! because he was able to do what he wants with a ****en reality show contestant makes you think he's a superior boxer lol. If you think somone will win a fight by jabbing all night then you need to start watching a new sport cause you have no idea what the **** your talking about. cotto jab all night? lol cotto is a pressure fighter with great body work that is what has made him miguel cotto. This is going to be back and forth action. Jabs dont win you fights especially when your opponent will walk through them all night.

The only way Cotto can win this fight is by boxing! Slugging is going to get him KTFO! The problem is that people think Cotto is the new Sugar Ray... I heard a few people comparing this to Corralles - Floyd & Quintana - Williams, Like Miguel is going to put on a masterpiece/ boxing clinic! I'm sorry, I don't see it happening like that...

Albeit Cotto is quicker & more skilled than Margarito, are Cotto's boxing skills that good to the point where he can tame the tornado for 12 rds? Can he really stay disclipline & not get drawn into a "war"? at 140 Cotto had a war with Torress that almost left Miguel with his 1st loss! He was rocked numerous times, but held on to come back & stop Ricardo. Margarito is much bigger with a better chin & I know that was a while ago but I think slick fleet-footed boxers & pressure fighters give Cotto big problems...

This fight can truly go anyway... people always talk about Cotto's "suspect" chin, but has Margarito's long body been tested? Can it hold up in the later rounds from Cottos' punishing attacks? Who knows? I'm leaning towards Marg with a late rd (11) stoppage, after suffering a nasty cut & being behind on the scorecards

There is no way this fight can disappoint & hopefully it exceeds Castillo - Corralles I

It was me who compared it to a Corralles/Floyd(masterful) & Williams/Quintana(ugly but effective) performance, but what you might have missed was the fact that I said that I see Cotto's performance somewhere in between.

I didn't notice anyone claiming Cotto is the new Sugar Ray, but the general consensus is that he has to outbox Margarito to win this fight.

did any of u boxing eliterits realize that margarito has no speed?only fighters that ever bothered cotto were fighters with more hand speed than him.margaritos not at cottos level and hes gonna show it july 26, so dont forget to grab ur popcorn. i wanna see what cotto haters are gonna come with next after july 26...................maybe mayweather?dont worry hell be taken care of in do time.
