It's sick but this thread is kind of hilarious. Must be a sadist to laugh at the expense of these two. Both took their beatings like men, they have my respect.

Gatti did, certainly, but Gomez is a sturdy kid who ****** it out with boys 15-20 pounds heavier. The body shot that dropped him was by itself more punishing than can be immediately realized.. That was the first time he was ever knocked down, and again - he had been fighting some big boys..

Gomez was getting hurt.

Mayweather did it cleanly, but Baldomir, and Gomez himself put some decent beatings on top of a career's worth of beatings.. Just another day for Gatti..

Parts of the 4th and all of the 6th round of the Gatti/Mayweather fight was pure savagery. Floyd landed so many flush punches in combination.

As for the topic at hand: Mayweather destroyed Gatti. Gomez was getting hit by a harder puncher in Cotto, but Gatti was pretty much being taken apart in horrible fashion from the first to last second of their fight.
