    My take on Dawson v Glen Johnson

    My take on Dawson v Glen Johnson

    i thought scoring the fight that it it should have been a draw or a win for Johnson but i dont think u can make a case that Glen Johnson deserved to lose the fight after what he put into the fight ,if u were being brutally honest u could even say that some of those early rounds where Chad was hurt could have easily been scored 10/8 to Glen Johson ,personally i would'nt have but this is the reason i would have to give Glen Johnson at the very least a draw if not a win because there were times when he hurt Dawson badly and it took him a couple of rounds to regroup and get back on top ,on top of that i thought he won at least 6 rounds aswell so i cant see how u could give it to Dawson as a win ,as a draw maybe cause im assuming that Dawson outworked him i did'nt see the punch stats but thats how it looked

    i am a Dawson fan but i feel gutted for Glen Johnson that dude must think that the world is against him after all the debatable decisons he has had go against him ,Dawson can improve & learn a great deal from this fight i still have high hopes he is brilliant to watch in anycase some sweet moves great hand speed ,great ring craft im still a fan

    Terrific fight BTW a must see if u aint seen it

      Great fight.....mad respect for Johnson but Dawson won. I had it 115-113 and yes there were shaky moments and they both had very good moments but I really don't see a case for Johnson winning.

      That post fight interview with Johnson was great and I agree with him....but not with this fight. He's really been robbed before and I understand where he's coming from but he should have spoken out like that long ago. He was NOT robbed Sat night....he was narrowly outpointed by the younger more skilled fighter....period.

            Can't post this as new thread as boards playing up, but heres the post fight conference with Johnson, then Dawson, then Tarver calling out Dawson;

            I felt bad for Johnson here, most have him 1/2 out of the 4 fighters that night, even this site gave him B+ same as Tarver, above the other 2. Yet after asking for a rematch publically, he's humiliated further by Dawson snubbing hopes for a rematch any time soon, or at all. Then he has to listen to Tarver saying Dawson wants me, he won, so we'll get it on.

            No Woods here, though it turned into a little amatuer party not a conference so I don't blame him, he's clearly got stuff on his mind like his friend recently passing, and possbily retiring.

              I actually felt kind of sad for Johnson when he said, "I love people. I keep putting my trust in people, and they keep letting me down."

              He is such a nice guy, and that really has been what has happened to him throughout his career.

              I do think this is karma balancing itself out for the decision that happened in Tarver-Johnson I. Tarver fought Dawson's fight better by about 2 rounds, and they gave Johnson the decision. I was pretty shocked to be honest.

                Great fight I scored it for Dawson, could have gone to Johnson but I think it was a fight where both men fought their asses off.

                Some are dogging Bad Chad...cmon he is 25 and had to fight Glenn Johnson a guy that beat Roy, Woods and Tarver in the same year...whoever he fights he puts thru hell, he put Cahf thru hell and guess what I think Chad passed...barely but he passed.

                Dawson showed a ****load of heart and may have even won the 11th or the 12th. The problem was you just cant hurt Johnson...

                Glenn is an animal that just keeps getting better...I would love to see him get the winner of Tarver v. Dawson...Calzaghe v. Hopkins or a return bout with Roy.

                Dawson may have a bit of a chin problem...Ademek had him in trouble and Johnson had him in trouble...both times he came back swinging...we will see...Johnson (maybe someone like Paul Briggs) may be the only guy with the type of style to give Chad trouble I should add.

                    Johnson pressed the action, landed the harder shots, hurt Dawson badly two times and had him running for half of the fight. I had Johnson winning by 2 rounds. It could have gone either way though, but not by a 4 or 5 point margin like the judges had it. Johnson is on the way out and Showtime is hoping and preying that Dawson could be a big star for them, so I think most of us knew Johnson would need a KO to get the win.
