    Dawson-Johnson was a clearcut DRAW!

I scored the fight a little while ago and I don't understand the commotion a damn bit. Neither guy did enough to win yet we got so many people on here claiming robbery or justifying a win for either guy. I thought this fight was EASY to score. Practically every round had a clearcut winner, so you guys were either drunk (I was last night) or didn't watch close enough (you don't need to be judging fights). I scored it like so:

    1: 10-9 Dawson
    2: 10-9 Dawson
    3: 10-9 Johnson
    4: 10-9 Johnson
    5: 10-9 Johnson
    6: 10-9 Dawson
    7: 10-9 Dawson
    8: 10-9 Dawson
    9: 10-9 Dawson
    10: 10-9 Johnson
    11: 10-9 Johnson
    12: 10-9 Johnson

    114-114 EVEN

Now a lot of people are saying, "Well, Dawson didn't LOOK like he thought he won". Well, of course he's not gonna look happy. He's undefeated and has never been close to losing so he had every right to be nervous or upset. Then people say, "Well, the crowd thought he lost." OH REALLY!? Isn't Johnson from Florida? Even if he's not, he's a fan favorite everywhere. People are so familiar with his sob stories about being robbed like Augustus that people will always root for him. All I know is Johnson was cheered into the arena and Dawson got some boos. Midway through the fight when Dawson was boxing or "Running" as dumbasses call it, he got booed.

It was a good, close fight, but no way does either guy have a legit claim to winning it. There is no strong case to be made for either fighter. If so, show me some scorecards.

I thought 6 and 8 could have gone to Johnson so that's why I had it a Johnson win, but I would have been perfectly fine with a draw...

For once I actually agree with you. Old Satan is breaking out his sweater as we speak.

The judges scores were a little one sided, and I thought Johnson landed the harder, more effective punches in the fight, had Dawson hurt, but oh well. I'll have to watch it again and see if my scores are different without the beer.

        I had the same scoring.

I can see how some people could give Dawson the third round considering he was doing decent before getting caught. There is no way the score was wider than 113-115.

At the end of the night, Dawson gave a thoroughly unimpressive performance and lost many potential and current fans. His post-fight interview would also lead you to believe that he is genuinely scared of fighting Johnson again. He'll get knocked off soon.

Oddly enough I am postive you watched the fight considering you noticed when Dawson was booed. Flurries got Dawson some of the closer rounds, SRL style.

I have those marked as the two closest rounds, so good eye.

I don't think Dawson even started landing big until Johnson hit him with 7 or 8 good shots. It was close, but I don't think you can give that one to Bad Chad.

I watched this thinking it was going to be real tough to score, but it wasn't at all. I still say the hardest fight to score this year was Ngoudjo vs. Malignaggi, even more so than Pacquiao-Marquez II

I thought Johnson won 115-113. I stopped being a Dawson fan the minute he bitched up last night and denied Johnson an IMMEDIATE rematch. That in my mind proves two things about Dawson, HE knows he lost the fight and a champion's heart would take the rematch anyway. He won't have the title belt for long.
