Why so many Margarito haters? why??

I mean seriously, now that Margarito-Cotto is almost a sure thing some of you boneheads keep on hating Tony and saying how badly Cotto is going to hurt him instead of giving a non-biased opinion about the outcome of this fight. Cotto is one of my favorite fighters, I've said a million times how greatly he's improved over the last 2 years, but to say that he would just automatically win a fight against Margarito is dilusional at best.

A lot of the Cotto supporters have really come out of the woodworks now with this new loopsided beatdown of poor Alfonso Gomez, I mean the guy showed how great of a boxer he is against a guy who obviously was not at his level, is this fight to be seen as the outcome of the possible match between him and margarito? do you actually think Cotto would pull the same bull**** against Tony? lol I don't think so. This fight is going to be the hardest figh for both men, if Cotto chooses to **** with Tony, Margarito will take this fight, but if Cotto chooses to box Tony I see it going to a decision in favor of Cotto. Use some plain and basic common sense next will ya?

Its not that we hate Tony its just we hate his fans.

You seem unbiased but there arent many like you. I mean a victory over Golden Johnson doesnt mean that he can beat Floyd Mayweather.

I do like his style but when you hear people **** ride a fighter so much you tend to stop liking that fighter.

The fight is gonna be huge, it could go either way but Cotto's toughest test was Mosley in my opinion.

Still gonna be a great fight, you goin live?

The Floyd fans hate him for the potential bout talks.

Margarito is not a pocket sized matinee idol looking fighter. The children aren't physically attracted to Margarito. Tony is a grown as man, and he's all business. The kiddies like Pokemon fighters like Cotto, Pacquiao, and Mayweather. It's aesthetics. Sadly, I'm not kidding either.. :wank:

Ill tell you 1 thing, the Cotto lovers are taking the place of the Floyd superfans on the board. Discrediting Marg when they arent busy bashing Floyd non stop. Its getting old.

Tony took a lot of flack for fighting Johnson, but honestly anyone that doesn't take a fight like that after a loss is just ****** (see Judah) and is asking for trouble. No one really said he could beat Mayweather, just that he deserved a shot at the time and Floyd did turn down what would have been a record payday to fight him.

See, when you guys say, "We dont hate Margo, just his fans", pause for a moment and then think about it. Who has really been saying that? Is it more than 2 posters? This entire time I've been on this board, I've NEVER see more than 2 posters SERIOUSLY SPAM that Margo would beat Floyd. The keyword is "spam" because you should never hate on a fighter because his fans THINK he could beat another fighter.

So who are all of these Margo fans that keep spamming?

You're over generalizing. I've always thought Cotto was a superior boxer than Margarito. I've never thought Margarito was better than a top 10 type guy. He only became a commodity because he was an unmarketable guy who poses some problems for smaller welterweights. So, he didn't get fights. When guys roughly his size like Winky Wright and Vernon Forrest called him out he turned those fights down.

I think Bob Arum has done what he could to build Margarito up as a world beater. I don't think he's a very versatile fighter. I do think Cotto has a few more dimensions and more experience against top fighters. So, I expect Cotto to win. To me the difference in talent is pretty similar to the difference in talent between Mayweather and Hatton. I know that's not going to go over well with a lot of the Margarito fans, but that's what I believe and have believed for awhile.
