I wonder if it could be contractual, you know mayweather claims the 24/7 thing was his idea and HBO took it up. That could possibly explain it.

Ps. Look for the winner of cotto vs margarito to get a shot at mayweather in nov/dec of this year, provided he doesnt lose or get injured. Mayweather is all about building up a fight to make the most money, if cotto beats marg, that fight has to happen and mayweather will have another shot at another million home PPV for the 2nd year running.

I'd actually like to see a Cotto-Margarito 24/7 even though Bob Arum dissed it and said it wouldn't happen (even though that probably has more to do with Spanish being the dominant language than anything else).

Hopkins-Calzaghe would have been worthy of one too. I know it's probably time consuming and requires a lot of resources, but I agree with you that HBO needs to do the 24/7 series for more than just Floyd Mayweather fights.

mainstream HBO viewers are buying a soap opera when they purchase his fights.

the only fighter Floyd can get a 1 mill PPV buys with is De La Hoya. the hatton fight only got 800K.
